N-Charge™ Expansion Pack (EP)
N-Charge™ Expansion Pack: With the modular design of the N-Charge™ Power
System, you can double your run-time by easily snapping on the N-Charge™ Expansion
Pack. The N-Charge™ Expansion Pack is only 25 cm x 9 cm x 2.2 cm and weighs less
than 1.3 lbs, keeping the N-Charge™ Power System both lightweight and compact.
Peripheral Power System (PPS) (Cell phone, PDA, etc)
The optional Peripheral Power System (PPS) connects directly to your N-Charge™ Power System for
charging a multitude of portable electronic devices. Custom tips are easily attached to the PPS. The
interchangeable tips are compatible with specific brands and models of mobile devices, offering
power for a vast array of cell phones, notebooks, DVD players, MP3 players, and more.

The PPS adapter is required to provide the power interface from the
N-Charge™ Power System and your additional portable electronic devices.

The N-Charge™ Power System is completely universal, with interchangeable tips providing
compatibility with the most popular brands and models of notebooks, portable DVD players, MP3

What is the N-Charge™ Power System?
The N-Charge™ Power System is a universal battery that provides 5-10 hours* of additional notebook run-time. With the optional Peripheral Power
System (PPS), it powers a wide range of handheld electronic devices including cell phones, PDAs, MP3 players, portable CD players and portable
DVD players. The N-Charge™ Power System enables complete portability and allows you to be totally outlet free.
How much run time does the N-Charge™ Power System provide?
The N-Charge™ Power System with the optional Expansion Pack provides up to 10 hours of run time for your notebook. *
How do I maximize the run time of my N-Charge™ Power System?
You can improve the battery life of the N-Charge™ Power System by following these simple suggestions. Go to the Control Panel of your computer
and select Power Options to make the following changes:
1. Reduce the processor speed of your notebook to its lowest setting. (Note: This setting can not be changed on all notebook brands and models.)
2. Reduce the screen brightness to its minimum level.
3. Reduce the time to enter Standby mode to 5 minutes.
4. Reduce the time to power down hard drives when not in use to 5 minutes.
5. Reduce the time to turn off the monitor when not in use to 5 minutes.
The suggestions above will allow you to increase battery performance by up to 20%.
How do I recharge my N-Charge™ Power System?
The AC adapter of your notebook is used to recharge the N-Charge™ Power System. This is one of the great advantages of the N-Charge™ Power
System. Simply plug in your notebook AC adapter to the Charger Tip of the N-Charge™ Power System. This will begin the recharging process.
You can even power your notebook from the AC adapter simultaneously while recharging the N-Charge™ Power System.
Can the N-Charge™ Power System recharge my internal battery?
The N-Charge™ Power System recharges internal batteries on most notebooks. However, this is not the recommended mode of operation. Using the
N-Charge™ Power System to charge your internal notebook battery may reduce the run time of your N-Charge™ Power System by as much as 20%.
To achieve the maximum benefit from your N-Charge™ Power System, it is recommended that the internal notebook battery is fully charged.
How do I simultaneously power other mobile electronic devices such as cell phone or portable DVD players?
Charging secondary portable devices requires the following:
1. Peripheral Power System (PPS).
2. Compatible Power Tip for your specific device - cell phone, PDA, CD player, etc.
3. PPS Adapter.

If I change my notebook, do I need to purchase another N-Charge™ Power System?
NO. The only purchase required is a set of Power and Charger Tips compatible with your new notebook. If your new notebook requires the same Power
and Charger Tips currently used with your N-Charge™ Power System, there is no need to purchase additional items. Your investment in our product is
protected for the future!!
What do I do if I do not find my specific model of notebook listed in the compatibility guide?
New notebooks are being introduced daily. Please go to www.valence.com to obtain the latest compatibility information and see if your notebook PC
model has been newly listed. If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to call us at 888-VALENCE. We will be happy to help you.
