The 3Com Switch 4005 can automatically
detect and select the optimum port
speed, duplex mode, and cable connec-
tion (MDI/MDIX). The switch also
incorporates built-in enhanced web
management and configuration to ease
switch monitoring and setup.

Network Supervisor with net-
work discovery, topology mapping,
monitoring and alerting for easy network
administration.

The 10/100 operation of its Fast Ethernet-
over-copper modules enables a phased
approach to upgrading the network,
while with the support of 100Base-FX
meets the requirements for fiber to the
desktop. Gigabit Ethernet can then be
used for connectivity back to the core of
the network.
The high-performance, feature rich
Layer 3 switching, together with multi-
media support and advanced switching
features, also makes this an excellent
aggregator for the core of the network.
