Drilling Hole through Porcelain/Enamel/Ceramic Sinks
Recommended Tools:
• VariableSpeedDrill
• PorcelainCutterToolSet(9/16”Size)
• Plumber’sPutty
Note:Itisimportanttounderstandthisprocedure.
1. Theglassylayerofporcelain/enamel/ceramicmustbescoredthroughtothemetalbase,creatingadisk.
2. Thisdiskmustberemovedwhileprotectingthesurroundingdecorativecoatingagainstchippingorfracturing.
3. Thebasemetalmustbedrilledthroughtocompletethehole.
Procedure:
1. Markcenterfor9/16”hole.
2. Formadamofshallowputtyaroundholelocationandfillwithenoughwatertolubricatecarbidedrillbit.
3. Carefullydrillpilotholethroughporcelain/enamel/ceramicandbasemetalusingacarbidepilotdrill.Alwaysoperate
drillwithlightpressureatslowspeed(300-400rpm).
4. Drillporcelain/enamel/ceramicusingspecial9/16”cuttingtool,makingcertainacompleteringhasbeencutthrough
tothesink’smetalbase.
5. Changetometalcuttingdrillbitanddrilloutthecenterofthering,makingsurenottocontactotherrimofdecorative
coating.Cutthroughmetalsinkbase.

To reduce the risk of eye injury while drilling countertop for faucet installations:
• SafetyglassesMUSTbewornduringthesinkholedrillingoperations.

FILTER REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION
To reduce the risk associated with property damage due to water leakage:
• ThedisposablefiltercartridgeMUST bereplacedevery12months,attheratedcapacityorsoonerifthereisa
noticeablereductioninflowrate,whicheveroccursfirst.
1. Placetowelunderfiltertocollectanyresidualwaterduringfilterchange-out.
2. Graspfilterandturntotheleft(counterclockwise)untilfiltercomestoacompletestop(waterautomaticallyturns
off).Watermayleakmomentarilyfromventtube.Thisisnormal.Gentlypullfilterdownwardtoremove.
3. Removesanitaryprotectivecapfromnewreplacementfilter.
4. Ensurebotho-ringsarepresentonthereplacementfilterandareseated
intogrooves;moisteno-ringswithwater.DONOTuseanypetroleum
productstolubricatetheo-rings.
5. Insertreplacementfilterintofilterheadassembly.Turnreplacementfilter
onequarterturntotheright(clockwise)untilitstops.Whenfullyengaged,
thetopsurfaceofthefilterwillbeflushwiththebottomofthefilterhead
assembly.(SeeFigure7)
6. ResetPID:Afterthefilterhasbeenreplaced,pressthe“CHECK/RESET”
buttonforfour(4)seconds.Along“beep”soundcanbeheardandthe
remainingcapacityontheLCDscreenisresetto1,000gallons.
7. Openfaucetandrunwaterforaminimumof4gallons(approximately5
minutes).Whilesystemisflushing,checkforleaks.Repairanyleaksas
neededbeforecontinuing.
Closefiltersystemfaucet.Systemisnowunderpressureandcanbe
inspectedforleaks.Repairanyleaksasneededbeforecontinuing.Thesys-
temisnowreadyforuse.
