How does SliverWatch work ?
- Thesliverpassesthroughadiffusetransparentguide.
- TransmittersorLEDsilluminatethesealedinsideofthesensor.
- Receivers sense the amount of light in the spherical inside of the
sensor.
- ForeignmaterialabsorbsafractionofthelightemittedbytheLEDs,
thisincreasesthesignalandallowsthedetection.
- Lightisabsorbedfromallangles,allowinganuninterruptedviewof
thecontamination,regardlessitspositioninthesliver.
-Theshapeofthesliverguidedoesnotcompressthesliver.
What does SliverWatch detect ?
Anyforeignfibreinthesliver,aslongasthecolorisdifferentfromthe
colorofthefibrematerial.
Theabsenceofasliver,oranon-movingsliverinthesensor.Thismeans
thatthesensorreplacesthesliverbreakagestopmotioninthecreelof
thedrawframe.
Thelackofsomespecialcoloredsliverintheuseoffancyyarnproduc-
tion.
