NOTE: Push the throttle knob down or turn the knob
counter clockwise to insure IDLE position.
Turn ignition key switch to START position and release it
to ON when engine starts.
NOTE: On mulcher machines, engine will not start if the
Mulcher Head Float Switch is in the ON position.

After engine starts, keep throttle in IDLE for about five
minutes to allow engine to warm up (in colder weather,
increase warm-up time). Do not accelerate rapidly
during warm-up. Run engine at part throttle for a few
minutes, checking water temperature and oil pressure
gauges to make sure engine is warming up and that
there is oil pressure.

START-UP PROCEDURE CONTINUED...
Now turn throttle knob until engine is at top running RPM.
Check water temperature and oil pressure gauges again
for proper readings.
Operate all systems and controls to their limits of function
in order to raise hydraulic pressure in each line to the
maximum: lift and lower the mulching attachment, open
and close the arms, and tilt the mulching attachment in all
directions. Check for leaks in connections.

COLD WEATHER START-UP
In cold weather, special precaution must be taken to
ensure that hydraulic oil supply is warmed up enough for
proper circulation before operating machine.
1. Install block heater on engine.
2. Replace engine oil with correct type and viscosity for
cold weather.
3. Make sure batteries are at full charge.
4. Let engine and hydrostatic fluids warm thoroughly (at
least 5 minutes) before operating. Lift and lower
mulching attachment, tilt it fully forward and back, and
open and close attachment arms to accelerate
warming.
Consult factory for prolonged operation in subzero
weather.
