To avoid this tedious process, some models can
be fitted with special self-cleaning liners. These
liners are covered with microporous enamel and
are offered as an optional extra. See the section
headed «CATALYTIC SELF-CLEANING OVEN».
Use detergents and steel pads for both stainless steel
and enamelled grids. The finish used on stainless
steel grids on the part which comes into contact with
the flame does not reduce its effectiveness.
The toughened glass surfaces (top, oven door, hea-
ting compartment door) should be cleaned when
cold. Any breakages caused by ignoring this advice
are not covered by the guarantee.
The inner glass in the oven door can be removed
for cleaning. Using a screwdriver remove screws A,
remove the fixing plates B, and lift out the glass panel
(Fig. 10). Do not use excessive force when replacing screw A.
To keep the electric hotplates shiny, clean them after use with a damp cloth, and
as soon as they have cooled rub in a few drops of mineral oil.
It is good practice to chek periodically the condition of the rubber pipe which connects
the oven to the gas cylinder or to the supply pipe. If there is any evidence of cracking
or splitting, have it replaced with one which complies with the relevant national standard.
To change the bulb inside the oven, disconnect the appliance from the mains supply,
unscrew the glass cover and replace the bulb with a similar heat resistant one.
Catalytic self-cleaning oven
Special self-cleaning liners covered with microporous enamel are offered as an optional
extra on some models, which means that it is unlikely that you will ever need to
manualy clean the oven.
The grease which is deposited on the panels during cooking is removed through a cata-
lytic oxidation process, transforming it into gaseous products. The pores of the enamel
must be kept clear to ensure efficient self-cleaning.
Excessive deposits of grease can block the pores and thereby impede self-cleaning. This
can be remedied by turning the temperature control knob to maximum and leaving the
empty oven on for 10-20 minutes.
Do not use on the oven interior abrasive products, metallic pads, pointed objects, rough
cloths, chemical products or detergent which could cause irreparable damage to the
enamel.
The use of deep containers is recommended for cooking particularly greasy foods (roasts
etc) as in the use of the roasting tray when cooking under the grill.
This simple operation creates the ideal temperature and conditions for effective catalytic
cleaning.
If, for whatever reason, the self cleaning process is not satisfactory, remove the grease
with a soft cloth or sponge soaked in hot water.
The enamel must remain porous for effective self-cleaning.

NB: All self-cleaning liners on the market have an effective life of about 300 operating
hours, after which they should be replaced.
Technical Assistance
Before calling the Service Agent
If the oven does not work, we advise you to:
— check that the plug is properly connected to the socket, or that the Electrical supply
is correctly made to the appliance. Fuses and switches etc should be checked for
correct operation;
— in the case of a gas oven check that the gas flow is regular and that rubber pipe is
not kinked or blocked.
If your oven still does not work, switch it off, do not tamper with it and call the Service
Agent.
Before calling out the Service Agent make a note of the serial number which is
printed on the product identification plate (p. 4).
General Notice
WARNING:
When using the grill, the door should always remain open. When the grill or the
oven are being used, the cooker becomes very hot as does the glass in the door
and the surrounding parts. So, make sure that children do not touch the ap-
pliance.
WARNING:
When using the grill or the oven, the glass top (for those models where one is
fitted), should always be left open. Also, do not close the top while the burners
are still hot.
WARNING:
The use of both gas grill and gas oven simultaneously is not allowed.
Installation is the responsibility of the purchaser, and any work carried out by the
manufacturer due to incorrect installation is not covered by the warranty.
It is essential that everything concerning installation and adjustment is carried ou by
a qualified person, in accordance with the current regulations.
ATTENTION
An additional protective means to avoid contact with the oven door is available.
This part should be fitted when young children are likely to be present.
This protective means, code 9194675.6 (cookers with width 540 or 900) and code
9194674.9 (cookers with width 650), can be obtained calling our service department.
