Cautions to be observed when trouble shooting
U nlike m any other appliances, the m icrow ave oven is high-voltage, high-current equipm ent.
It is com pletely safe during norm al operation. H ow ever, carelessness in servicing the oven
can result in an electric shock or possible danger from a short circuit.
You are asked to observe the follow ing precautions carefully.
1. A lw ays rem ove the pow er plug from the outlet before servicing.
2. U se an insulated screw driver and w ear rubber gloves w hen servicing the high voltage side.
3. D ischarge the high voltage capacitor before touching any oven com ponents or w iring.
1) C heck the earthed.
D o not operate on a tw o-w ire extension cord.
T he m icrow ave oven is designed to be used w hile earthed.
It is im perative, therefore, to m ake sure it is earthed properly
before beginning repair w ork.
2) W arning about the electric charge in the high voltage capacitor.
F or about 30 seconds after the operation hasstopped an electric
charge rem ains in the high voltage capacitor. W hen replacing
or checking parts, short betw een oven chassis and the negative
high term inal of the high voltage capacitor by using a properly
insulated screwdriver to discharge.
4. W hen the 12A fuse is blow n due to the operation of the m onitor
sw itch; replace prim ary interlock sw itch, secondary interlock sw itch
and interlock m onitor sw itch.
5. A fter repair or replacem ent of parts, m ake sure that the screw s are
properly tightened, and all electrical connections are tightened.
6. D o not operate w ithout cabinet.

S ervice personnel should rem ove their w atches w henever w orking close to or replacing the m agnetron.
W hen servicing the appliance, take a care w hen touching or replacing high potential parts because of electrical shock
or exposing m icrow ave. T hese parts are as follow s - H V Transform er, M agnetron, H V C apacitor, H V D iode. H V Fuse.
