andfactoryassembledmodelofoneofthemostcapable
reconnaissanceaircraftoftheAlliedarsenalduringWWII.
Owingtoitssignificantamountofprefabricationandfactory
assembly,theP-38/F-5Ecanbeassembledinabout2to4
hours.Thefactoryinstalledmotormountsticksallowfortheuse
ofinrunnermotorsandgearboxes,oroutrunnermotorsusingthe
includedoutrunnerstickmounts.Theincluded10x8Ecounter-
rotatingpropshelptoensuretheeasiestandsmoothesttwin-motor
flyingexperienceeverbyofferingdeadstraight-aheadtracking
duringaccelerationfortakeoffsandinflight.Theyalsosubstantially
reduceadverseyawshouldyoueverhappentoloseamotorduring
flight,andworkperfectlywiththerecommendedpowersystems.
AndalthoughtheP-38/F-5Eisnotintendedforfirst-timepilots,
itssuperiordesignoffersflyingcharacteristicsunlikeanyother
similarmodelinitsclass,capableofbeingflownbymostpilotswith
aileron-equippedmodelexperience.TheP-38/F-5Ecanbeflown
fromsmoothsurfacesusingtheincludedlandinggearandoptional
steerablenosewheel,orfromgrasswiththelandinggearand
includeddroptanksremoved.
