Professional Tower Speaker
Scope of delivery:
2 x 3-way loudspeakers with detachable
textile loudspeaker cover
8 claw feet
The loudspeakers are intended for
connection to an amplifier for private use.
They are not intended for connection to
other devices and not in commercial and
industrial areas.
Safety instructions
•
Ensure that loudspeakers and loud-
speaker connections never come in
contact with water or get moist.
•
Ensure that the loudspeakers are placed
in stable and vertical positions to
avoid injuries through falling loud-
speakers.
Unpacking the
loudspeakers
To avoid damaging the loudspeakers do not
attempt lifting them from the cardboard
box. Neither should you pull the polythene
bags. These could tear and the loudspeaker
fall.
Instead:
•
Fold back the lid flaps of the cardboard
box.
•
Invert the cardboard box 180° by first
placing it on the long side and righting
it again (the surface should be soft and
level to avoid scratching the veneer).
•
Pull the cardboard box upward from the
boxes.
•
Remove the polythene bags.
The loudspeakers are now standing upside
down. Four threads for installing the claw
feet are located in each loudspeaker.
Installing the claw feet
•
Tightly screw the claw feet clockwise
in the fixtures provided in the loud-
speaker base.
•
Carefully turn the loudspeakers again so
that they stand on the claw feet.
Caution:
In each case lift the entire loudspeaker
when placing or repositioning to avoid
damage to claw feet and floor!
When placing and repositioning the
loudspeakers always exercise care to
avoid damaging the diaphragm.
Positioning
First determine the locations where you
wish to position the loudspeakers.
The distance of the loudspeakers to the
listener should not be less than 1.5 m.
In an ideal situation the two loudspeakers
and the listener are located at the corner
points of an equilateral triangle.
Measure the respective distances from the
loudspeakers to the amplifier. Suitable long
loudspeaker cables are available from the
specialist trade.
Note: Ensure that the loudspeakers are
not positioned near monitors or
screens - the electromagnetic field of the
loudspeakers can cause interferences on
these devices.
Connecting the loud-
speaker cables to the
loudspeakers
Remove the insulations from the ends of the
loudspeaker cables. Tightly twist the indivi-
dual wire strands together (Figure 1). Ensure
that the wires do not touch each other –
short-circuit hazard.
Loosen the screw knob of the loudspeaker
input terminal and insert the wire in the
input terminal from below. Ensure that only
bright wire (but no insulation) is inserted
in the hole (Figure 2). Tighten the screw
knob. Repeat this step for each wire and for
each loudspeaker terminal.
Hint: Alternatively you can connect
individual banana plugs (available from
the specialist trade) to the cable ends for
connecting the cables to the loudspeakers.
Caution:
Pull the power plug of the amplifier before
connecting the loudspeaker cables.
Switching off is not sufficient since mains
voltage is still present at the device while
the power plug is plugged in the socket.
Ensure that the loudspeakers are connected
correctly, i.e. that the positive terminal of
the amplifier is connected to the positive
terminal of the loudspeaker and the nega-
tive terminal of the amplifier to the nega-
tive terminal of the loudspeaker.
