Volume - Adjust the volume of the audio output with this option. Both the external speaker and the
headphone volume are managed by this option.
Audio Output - Your choices here are OFF, HEADPHONE or SPEAKER. Choose HEADPHONE to
engage the headphone jack and turn off the external speaker. Choose SPEAKER to allows audio
output to be heard from the front side speaker or choose OFF for no audio output at all.
Record Mode - Choose either MANUAL or CAMERA TIME CODE. Choosing MANUAL requires the
operator to push the red RECORD button on the front of the unit to initiate recording and the STOP
(■) button to complete the clip. If the attached camera is providing timecode through the video input,
choosing CAMERA TIME CODE will allow sideKick HD to start and stop recording based on rolling
timecode coming from the camera. If CAMERA TIME CODE is selected, the red RECORD button
from the front of the unit will not operate the record function.
Video Input - Determine whether the signal to be recorded is coming from the HD-SDI or the HDMI
input. No matter which is chosen here, both HD-SDI and HDMI outputs are always available.
Audio Input - EMBEDDED or ANALOG. If you choose ANALOG you must have your analog audio
input connected to the AUDIO / LINE In port on the left side of the unit. It is an unbalanced analog
connection. Using this input will replace embedded audio channels 1 and 2 with the analog inputs.
EMBEDDED uses the digital signal coming in with the video signal.
Video Standard - This setting allows you to specify the incoming video source signal for the next clip
to be recorded as well as the next clip to played. It is highly recommended to leave it on Auto-Detect.
If the user-selected signal choice does not match the actual incoming signal, video WILL NOT be
recorded properly and clips will not playback. Why worry, let us do the hard work!

Note - If you choose the video standard by yourself, as opposed to using Auto-Detect, check the LIVE
mode for a video signal. If you see pass-thru video, your standard choice and incoming video are
properly matched. If no video feed is seen in
LIVE mode the video standard choice is incorrect.
