DANGER! Risk of physical injury!
Cutting injuries can be caused if the hedge trimmer
does switch on unintentionally.
vBefore maintenance, remove the battery
(see 4. Initial Operation) and slide the protective
cover

over the cutter blade

Cleaning the Hedge Trimmer:
w
e
ATTENTION ! Damage to the hedge trimmer!
vNever clean the hedge trimmer under running water
or with a water jet (in particular a high pressure
water jet).
1. Clean the hedge trimmer with a damp cloth.
2. Clean the airflow slots with a soft brush
(do not use a screwdriver).
3. Clean the blade

with a brush, if required, and lubricate with
a low-viscosity oil (e.g. GARDENA Spray Oil
Art. 2366).
Avoid contact of the oil with the plastic parts and wear gloves.

(see 4. Initial Operation) and slide the protective
cover

Problem
Possible Cause
Remedy
Hedge trimmer does not start
Battery is flat.
v Charge battery
(see 4. Initial Operation).
Battery not pushed onto the
handle properly.
v Push battery onto the
handle and make sure that
the locking buttons snaps
in correctly.
Blade soiled (e. g. by resin).
v Clean blade
(see 7. Maintenance).
Blade blocked.
v Remove obstacle.
Hedge is not cleanly cut
Blade blunt or damaged.
v Have blade replaced by
GARDENA-Service.
The Hedge Trimmer can no
longer be switched off
Start button is stuck.
v Remove battery and loosen
start button.
Hedge Trimmer stops.
Error-LED

Battery overload.
v Wait for 10 sec.
Press button

on the
battery and restart.
