Replacing the Blades
NOTE. Before making any adjustment or
maintenance procedures to the lawn mower ensure
it is turned off and the spark plug lead is removed.
NOTE. Wear heavy gloves to protect your hands.
1. With the engine switched off, remove the hard
catcher (43) and lift the front of the lawn mower
upwards so the upper handle bar (1) sits on the
ground and the spark plug faces upwards.
2. Remove the blade bolt (31) using a 17mm spanner (not supplied) by
turning in an anti-clockwise direction (Fig AN), then remove the outer
flange and washer (32) (Fig AO). This allows you to be able to remove the
blade mounting plate (37) from the lawn mower.
3. To remove a single blade from the blade mounting plate (37), again use
a 17mm spanner (not supplied) to loosen and remove the nut, screw and
washers. (Fig AP/AQ)
NOTE: There is 1 washer located under the screw
on the outer side of the blade mounting plate (37),
and one on the underside of the blade mounting
plate in between the blade and blade mounting
plate (37). Be careful not to lose these (Fig AR).
