SERVICE BULLETINS
Service Bulletins may be issued on product for either software or hardware changes. The
Service Bulletin will indicate if the change can be made in the field or if the unit must be
returned to a Garmin facility. It will also indicate in the WARRANTY INFORMATION section if the
labor is reimbursable and what conditions must be met for reimbursement. The maximum limit
for time reimbursement will be listed in the MANPOWER section of the Service Bulletin.
The most current software version should always be installed. In some cases, conditions for
reimbursement require that the unit must be under the original new product warranty. Other
Service Bulletins are Non‐Reimbursable. The only exception to this situation is the case of a
Software Service Bulletin. New software releases include all previous software updates for the
unit. Should the unit be missing a previous software update that was required, the unit will be
eligible for reimbursement for the time allotted on the last required software change, up to one
hour, provided that the most current software version is installed.
If more than one software is being updated (example: main and GPS) on a unit, reimbursement
will be limited to up to one hour combined, despite the eligibility of reimbursement for multiple
Software Service Bulletins.
Upon the release of a Software Service Bulletin, the service center or distributor will have 30
days to exchange for the latest software update. Service Bulletins complied with for previous
software versions after the 30 days will no longer be eligible for reimbursement.
To obtain a list of all Service Bulletins issued for a unit, please visit the Dealers Only section of
the Garmin website at www.garmin.com under Technical Bulletins & Advisories. A User ID and
password are required. Please contact your Account Representative for lost or new ID’s and
