Station Valve Installation
Uptothree24vacsolenoidvalvescanbeconnectedtoeachstationoutputand
wiredbacktotheCommon(COM)connector.Whenusinglongrunsofcables,be
awarethatvoltagedropcanplayasignificantroll,especiallywhenmorethanonecoil
iswiredtoasinglestation.Asagoodruleofthumbselectyourcableasfollows:
0–50m
cabledia0.5mm
50–100m
cabledia1.0mm
100–200m cabledia1.5mm
200–400m cabledia2.0mm
Whenyouareusingmultiplevalvesperstationthecommonwireneedstobemuch
largerasitneedstocarrymorecurrent.Inthesecircumstanceschooseacommon
cable1ortwosizeslargerthanrequired.Whenmakingconnectionsinthefield,only
everusegelfilledorgreasedfilledconnectors.Mostfieldfailuresoccurduetopoor
connections.Thebettertheconnectionhere,andthebetterthewaterproofsealthe
longerthesystemwillperformwithouttrouble.
