Battery
This radio has a rechargeable battery inside (details see “Specifications”). The current battery
status is shown in the icon in the top right corner of the LCD display. If this icon is flashing or if
there is no more display at all, the battery is weak and needs to be recharged.
The battery can be recharged in 2 ways:
Charging by Hand Crank
To charge the battery by hand crank, simply fold out the hand crank on the back of the unit and
crank at around 120 - 130 r/min in either direction.
While cranking, the CHARGING INDICATOR will be lit green.
To fully charge an empty battery, you need to crank for about 70 minutes at the above indicated
speed.
Charging via DC
You can connect an external power adaptor with 5V, 300mA (not supplied) to the DC In on the
radio to charge the battery.
Clock
To set the time, the radio needs to be in standby mode:
1.
While the radio is in standby mode, press and hold for 3 seconds the BAND/CELL but-
ton. The hours will be flashing.
2.
Set the current hours by pressing the CHANNEL UP or CHANNEL DOWN button.
3.
Press the BAND/CELL
button again to confirm. The minutes will be flashing.
4.
Set the current minutes by pressing the CHANNEL UP or CHANNEL DOWN button.
5.
Press the BAND/CELL
button again to confirm. You can now select between 24h and
12h time display by pressing the CHANNEL UP or CHANNEL DOWN button.
6.
Press the BAND/CELL
button again to confirm. The time is now set and is shown in the
display
Siren
•
To activate the siren, press the SIREN button once. While the siren is on, the red siren
light will be flashing as well.

To turn the siren off, press the SIREN button once again.
Radio
1.
To turn on the radio, press the POWER button.
2.
Select the desired band (AM or FM) by pressing the BAND/CELL button.
3.
Select a desired radio frequency by pressing the CHANNEL UP or CHANNEL DOWN
button.
Press the button once to manually select a specific frequency.
Press and hold for 2 seconds the button to automatically tune to the next available radio
station.
4.
Fully extend the telescopic antenna for best reception.
