By pressing the MUTE button on the remote control.

By using the MUTE switch on the front of the unit.
The above are independant of each other. If the volume is muted by the remote control it cannot be
switched back on on the unit, and vice versa. It must be switched back on by the method it was muted.
Equalizer Presets
This unit provides 4 different sound modes to enhance the listening experience. You can select the
desired effect by pressing the EQ button repeatedly. Each press will change the equalizer as follows:
Flat Classic Rock Pop Jazz
Display Function (via remote control)
In any mode you can press the DISPLAY/ID3 button to display the current time.
ID3 Tag Function (via remote control)
During MP3 playback you can press the DISPLAY/ID3 button repeatedly to display ID3 tags (such as
artist, song, album, etc.). This function is only available when your MP3 files have ID3 tags.
Dimmer
When the unit is on the display and tuning dial brightness can be adjusted in two levels. Set the Dim-
mer switch on the front of the unit to 1 or 2 for the desired brightness.
Radio
1.
Turn the unit on by pressing the ON/STANDBY I / button.
2.
Select the radio mode by repeatedly pressing the FUNCTION button until “TUNER” appears in
the display.
3.
Select the desired radio station by turning the tuning knob.
FM Stereo Reception
If a stereo signal is being received, the stereo indicator “FM-ST” will be illuminated.
For a better reception
For best reception fully unwind the FM wire antenna at the rear of the unit.
CD Operation
1.
Turn the unit on by pressing the ON/STANDBY I / button.
2.
Select the CD mode by repeatedly pressing the FUNCTION button until “CD” appears in the
display.
3.
Open the CD tray by pressing the Open/Close
button.
4.
Insert a CD with the printed side facing up.
5.
Close the CD tray by pressing the Open/Close
button again.
6.
The CD is now being read. The display will then show the total no. of tracks and total time and
playback will start automatically.
7.
To temporarily stop the playback (pause), press the PLAY/PAUSE
button once. Press the but-
ton again to resume playback.
8.
To stop playback, press the STOP
■ button.
Fast Forward / Fast Rewind & Skipping Tracks

To jump to the beginning of the currently playing track, press the Skip Down
|◄◄ button once.
