THE QUATTRO T
riFX™ SURROUND SPEAKER
The QUATTRO TFX™ is an innovative concept in surround channel speaker design, invented by Ken Kreisel.
The QUATTRO TFX™ speaker can operate in three modes: TriFx™, Dipole and Direct Radiator. You can select these
modes by inserting or removing a jumper on the back of the speaker. They can also be switched remotely by
using an external speaker selector box..
In the Dipole mode, the QUATTRO TriFX™ radiates sound mostly from its left and right drivers in a fi gure-of- eight
pattern with an acoustic null toward the front of the speaker.
In the TriFX™ mode the QUATTRO TFX™ features a unique 180 degree sound radiation pattern with DIRECT
FRONT drivers and FIGURE 8 SIDE-FIRING drivers. The TriFX™ mode produces a near perfect 180 degree sound
illumination pattern providing a very large side surround and/or back surround listening sweetspot, while still
maintaining pin point location accuracy of the surround channel information.
It is recommended by Ken Kreisel that most users set the QUATTRO TFX™ to the TriFX™ mode (jumper in), which
provides for the widest possible surround listening sweet spot with pin point location accuracy.
In the Direct Radiator mode, the QUATTRO TFX™ will radiate sound directly from the drivers on the front of the
speaker with virtually no output from the Dipole (side) drivers.
