3. Some laptops may limit the amount of electricity provided by the interface
cable. In this case, you should connect the USB power cable to draw
sufficient electricity. Unplug the interface cable and plug in the USB power
cable, then attach the interface cable again. Refer to the User Manual on
your LaCie Storage Utilities CD-ROM for more detailed information.
* The LaCie Mobile Hard Drive is formatted in FAT 32. If you would like to use a different file format, you will need to reformat the hard drive. FAT
32 format allows to access data on any Operating System (Windows or Mac), ideal for Cross-platform use. The NTFS format for Windows 2000/
XP and greater users will allow to store files larger than 4GB, to format partition larger than 32GB or to optimize performance. To optimize
performance, Mac users will be able to format in HFS+. For more information about formatting, please refer to the User Manual.
2. Connect the drive to your computer via the USB or FireWire interface.
After a few seconds, your LaCie Hard Drive will mount on
your computer*.
