Lafayette TD-2 User Manual - page 5
TD-2 thermostat provides electronic control of 230VAC heating or cooling system. When TD-2
is operating in heating system, it provides frost protection, setback function and the option of
Pulse width modulation (PWM) control. When TD-2 is operating in cooling system, its offers the
option of permanently turned off function.
TD-2 has been designed to give you an easy–to-use and push-button climate control. The large,
clear and backlit display is easy to read even in the dark.
TD-2 has 3 input keys: the ∧, ∨, Green button

Pulse Width Modulation (PWM)
TD-2 offers Pulse width modulation control that enables a set point temperature to be maintai-
ned in a precise and convenient way. In the case of under floor heating, the duration of ope-
ning for the valve actuator is regulated by comparing continuously the set point temperature
with the actual temperature. In this way, the room temperature can reach the set temperature
with minimal temperature deviation. Subsequently, the room temperature is constantly main-
tained via the PWM control. In the case of TD-2 is used with radiator or convector heating
system, PWM can be switched off if necessary.
Setback Temperature
TD-2 has setback temperature function. Once the setback is activated, the set point tempera-
ture is 4°C or 7°F lower than the current set-point temperature. For example, if the set-point is
at 22°C, then the setback temperature is 18°C. Press Green button to toggle between normal
set-temperature and setback function, icon will flash and animate as below to indicate that
the setback function is activated.
