Front & Rear Panel
Descriptions –
1. Power Connector
Connect the supplied AC power cord to this
IEC jack.
2. Power Switch
Turns the Blackbird on and off. The Power LED
will illuminate when powered.
3. XLR/Line Inputs
Connect a balanced mic signal using an XLR
connector or connect a balanced or unbalanced line-level signal
using a 1/4" connector.
4. Gain Knob
Adjusts the mic/line input sensitivity.
5. Signal and OL LED
Illuminates green to indicate signal
or red when a signal is clipping.
6. Line/Hi-Z Switch
Engage the switch to play a guitar without
using a DI Box.
7. Low Cut Switch
Cuts bass frequencies below 75 Hz at a slope
of 18 dB per octave.
8. 48V Phantom Power Switch
Provides 48V to the displayed
channels’ XLR jacks.
9. To Mon Knob
Adjusts the level of inputs 1 and 2 sent to the
monitor and phones outputs.
10. Mono/Stereo Switch
Mono combines the stereo signal into
a monophonic signal going to the monitor and phones outputs,
only affecting input 1/2 monitoring.
11. Monitor Knob
Adjusts the level of the signal sent to the
monitor and phones outputs.
12. Phones Jack
Connect stereo headphones using a 1/4"
connector.
13. Phones Knob
Controls the headphones level.
14. Mon / Ph Switch
Choose if the phones mix is the same
as the main / mon outputs mix [switch up] or a custom mix
from the Blackbird Control software [switch down].
15. Insert
Connect a serial effects processor, such as a
compressor or gate, using a 1/4" Y cable.
16. Mon Out L/R
Feed the inputs of powered studio monitors
and/or amplifiers via the monitor output jacks.
17. Main Out L/R
Connect to the inputs of a headphone amp
or other external audio device.
18. Alt Out L/R
Connect to the inputs of a headphone amp
or other external audio device.
19. ADAT In / Out
Connect lightpipe cables to external
ADAT In / Out.
20. Word Clock In / Out
Connect a BNC cable to an external
audio device’s word clock jack.
21. FireWire
Allows you to stream audio to and from a computer
and/or external hard drive. See owner’s manual for FireWire
LED behavior based on Blackbird operation mode and connection
status.
