IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
1.ReadInstructions-Allthesafetyandoperating
instructionsshouldbereadbeforetheapplianceis
operated.
2.RetainInstructions-Thesafetyandoperatinginstructions
shouldberetainedforfuturereference.
3.HeedWarnings-Allwarningsontheapplianceandinthe
operatinginstructionsshouldbeadheredto.
4.FollowInstructions-Alloperatinganduseinstructions

5.Cleaning-Unplugthisproductfromthewalloutletbefore
cleaning.Donotuseliquidcleanersoraerosolcleaners.

6.Attachments-Donotuseattachmentsnotrecommended

7.WaterandMoisture-Donotusethisproductnearwater,
forexample,nearabathtub,washbowl,kitchensink,or
laundrytub,inawetbasement,ornearaswimmingpool,
andthelike.
8.Accessories-Donotplacethisproductonanunstable
cart,stand,tripod,bracket,ortable.Theproductmay
fall,causingseriousinjurytoachildoradult,and
seriousdamagetotheappliance.Useonlywithacart,
stand,tripod,bracket,ortablerecommendedbythe
manufacturer,orsoldwiththeproduct.Anymounting
oftheapplianceshouldfollowthe
manufacturer'sinstructionsand
shoulduseamountingaccessory
recommendedbythemanufacturer.An
applianceandcartcombinationshould
bemovedwithcare.Quickstops,
excessiveforce,andunevensurfaces
maycausetheapplianceandcart
combinationtooverturn.
9.Ventilation-Slotsandopeningsinthecabinetare
providedforventilationandtoensurereliableoperation
oftheproductandtoprotectitfromoverheating,and
theseopeningsmustnotbeblockedorcovered.The
openingsshouldneverbeblockedbyplacingtheproduct
onabed,sofa,rug,orothersimilarsurface.Thisproduct
shouldnotbeplacedinabuilt-ininstallationsuchasa
bookcaseorrackunlessproperventilationisprovidedor
themanufacturer'sinstructionshavebeenadheredto.
10. PowerSources-Thisproductshouldbeoperatedonly
fromthetypeofpowersourceindicatedonthemarking
label.Ifyouarenotsureofthetypeofpowersupply
toyourhome,consultyourappliancedealerorlocal
powercompany.Forproductsintendedtooperatefrom
batterypower,orothersources,refertotheoperating
instructions.
11. GroundingorPolarization-Thisproductisequippedwith
apolarizedalternating-currentlineplug(aplughaving
onebladewiderthantheother).Thisplugwillfitintothe
poweroutletonlyoneway.Thisisasafetyfeature.If
youareunabletoinserttheplugfullyintotheoutlet,try
reversingtheplug.Iftheplugshouldstillfailtofit,contact
yourelectriciantoreplaceyourobsoleteoutlet.Donot
defeatthesafetypurposeofthepolarizedplug.
12. PowerCordProtection-Powersupplycordsshould
beroutedsothattheyarenotlikelytobewalkedonor
pinchedbyitemsplaceduponoragainstthem,paying
particularattentiontocordsatplugs,convenience
receptacles,andthepointwheretheyexitfromthe
appliance.
13. OutdoorAntennaGrounding-Ifanoutsideantennaor
cablesystemisconnectedtotheproduct,besurethe
antennaorcablesystemisgroundedsoastoprovide
someprotectionagainstvoltagesurgesandbuilt-upstatic
charges.Article810oftheNationalElectricalCode,ANSI/
NFPANo.70,providesinformationwithregardtoproper
groundingofthemastandsupportingstructure,grounding
ofthelead-inwiretoanantennadischargeunit,sizeof
groundingconductors,locationofantenna-dischargeunit,
connectiontogroundingelectrodes,andrequirementsfor
thegroundingelectrode.(Fig.A)
14. Lightning-Foraddedprotectionforthisproductduringa
lightningstorm,orwhenitisleftunattendedandunused
forlongperiodsoftime,unplugitfromthewalloutletand
disconnecttheantennaorcablesystem.Thiswillprevent
damagetotheproductduetolightningandpower-line
surges.
15. PowerLines-Anoutsideantennasystemshouldnotbe
locatedinthevicinityofoverheadpowerlinesorother
electriclightorpowercircuits,orwhereitcanfallinto
suchpowerlinesorcircuits.Wheninstallinganoutside
antennasystem,extremecareshouldbetakentokeep
fromtouchingsuchpowerlinesorcircuitsascontactwith
themmightbefatal.
16. Overloading-Donotoverloadwalloutletsandextension
cordsasthiscanresultinariskoffireorelectricshock.
17. ObjectandLiquidEntry-Neverpushobjectsofanykind
intothisproductthroughanyopeningsastheymaytouch
dangerousvoltagepointsorshort-outpartsthatcould
resultinafireorelectricshock.Neverspillliquidofany
kindontheproduct.
18.Servicing-Donotattempttoservicethisproductyourself
asopeningorremovingcoversmayexposeyouto
dangerousvoltageorotherhazards.Referallservicingto
qualifiedservicepersonnel.
19. DamageRequiringService-Unplugthisproductfrom
thewalloutletandreferservicingtoqualifiedservice
personnelunderthefollowingconditions:
a.Whenthepower-supplycordorplugisdamaged.
b.Ifliquidhasbeenspilled,orobjectshavefallenintothe
product.
c. Iftheproducthasbeenexposedtorainorwater.
d.Iftheproductdoesnotoperatenormallybyfollowingthe
operatinginstructions.Adjustonlythosecontrolsthat
arecoveredbytheoperatinginstructionsasanimproper
adjustmentofothercontrolsmayresultindamageand
willoftenrequireextensiveworkbyaqualifiedtechnician
torestoretheproducttoitsnormaloperation.
e.Iftheproducthasbeendroppedordamagedinanyway.
f. Whentheproductexhibitsadistinctchangein
performancethisindicatesaneedforservice.
20. ReplacementParts-Whenreplacementpartsare
required,besuretheservicetechnicianhasused
replacementpartsspecifiedbythemanufacturerorhave
thesamecharacteristicsastheoriginalpart.Unauthorized
substitutionsmayresultinfire,electricshockorother
hazards.
21. SafetyCheck-Uponcompletionofanyserviceorrepairs
tothisproduct,asktheservicetechniciantoperform
safetycheckstodeterminethattheproductisinproper
operatingcondition.
22. Heat-Thisproductshouldbesituatedawayfromheat
sourcessuchasradiators,heatregisters,stoves,orother
products(includingamplifiers)thatproduceheat.
