MAGNUM
IA200
Stereo (Dual-Mono) Integrated Amplifier
Thank you for buying this IA200 integrated amplifier. While being an integrated amplifier it is, in
effect a pre-amplifier and power amplifier in a single chassis. The “power amplifier” has twin
power supplies and the “pre amplifier” incorporates a dedicated power supply. A single
transformer is used. The IA200 Magnum Integrated Amplifier also uses larger, higher-grade
capacitors than you may have previously experienced. Ensure you switch power off and let these
capacitors discharge before altering connections. We will discuss this on page 3 (§).
FUNCTION/DESCRIPTION OF THE FRONT PANEL
1.Volume
Varies the output voltage with constant impedance
2.Mute
Loudspeakers disconnected.
3.On L.E.D.
Lights when the amplifier is powered
4.Switch
Powers the amplifier when pressed in
5.C.D.
Input signals fed directly to amplifying circuits/volume control. This
MAY enhance sound quality.
6.Input Selector
Connects 6 independent inputs via low noise amplifying circuits.
FUNCTION/DESCRIPTION OF THE REAR PANEL
7.GND
Terminal post for the PU Arm Grounding lead
8.Phono
Input for Moving Magnet cartridge ‡See over for more
9.C.D. through Tape
Auxiliary Inputs
10.Tape-Out Record
Output voltage proportional to the input voltage, from input selected
11.C.D. Direct
Inputs directly to amplifying circuits. CD input may yield higher clarity
12.Pre-Out
Output voltage variable according to volume control
13.Ventilation Grill
Self explanatory,
DO NOT COVER OR OBSTRUCT
14.Speakers left/right
Two outputs to the loudspeakers, loads 4-16 ohms, disconnected when
mute switch pushed in
IT IS VITAL THAT YOU CONNECT ONLY ONE PAIR OF SPEAKERS
15.Power lead input
May be disconnected to allow use of upgraded power cable and thereby
improved sonics. Discuss this with your dealer
16.Fuse Holder
6.3 Amp fuse must be used
