Dependingontheapplication,theAmericanPerformer
microphonecaneitherbehandheldormountedona
microphonestandwithastandardmicclip.
Beawareoftheproximityeffect(anincreaseinbass
response)whenthemicisplacedclosetothemouthor
instrument.Thismayormaynotbedesirable.Experimenting
withthepositionofthemicwithrespecttotheaudiosource
willensuretheoptimumresultsyouareseekinginanygiven
application.Also,neverplaceyourhandsovertheballscreen
ofthemicduringuse,asthiscandegradetheperformance.
Ifthemicisplacedtoonearaspeaker,anunpleasant
howlingeffect(acousticfeedback)mayoccur.Althoughall
microphonesarepronetofeedbacktosomeextent,those
withunidirectionalpolarpattern(suchastheAmerican
Performer)arespeciallydesignedtoacceptonlysignals
fortheaudiosourcedirectlyinfrontofthemiccartridge.
Thus,thecardioidpatternoftheAmericanPerformermic
ensuresthatitwilldeliveronlythedesiredaudioinfrontof
themic,rejectingtheunwantedaudiofromtherear,even
innoisyambientconditionswithhighsoundpressurelevels
fromtheP.A.andmonitorspeakers.Thismeansthatfeedback
willbegreatlyminimizedwiththeAmericanPerformerinall
liveperformancemikingapplications.
Someusefulwaysinwhichtototallyeliminateannoying
feedbackinclude:experimentingwithmicpositionswith
respecttothespeakers;decreasingspeakervolume
(wheneverpossible),andadjustingtheequalizationof
themicaudiowiththemixer.

90daysfromthedateofpurchase.Ifanysuchdefectisdiscoveredwithinthewarrantyperiod,NadySystems,Inc.willrepairorreplacetheunitfreeofcharge,
subjecttoverificationofthedefectormalfunctionupondeliveryorshippingprepaidtoNadySystems.
