Connecting the CM-100
TheCM100canbeusedinliveorstudioalignment
applicatoinsorstudiorecording.Itmustbepoweredby
48Vphantompower(suchassuppliedbytheoptionalNady
SMPS-1phantompowersupplyoramixingconsole/alignment
deviceequippedwithphantompower),andamplifiedbya
microphonepre-amp(suchasbuiltintoamixer,orastand-
aloneunit).
Note: Make sure to set the pre-amp to the proper gain level—too much gain may
distort subsequent amplifiers and too little may result in a noisy signal)
TheCM100canbeconnectedtoyourmixerorphantom
powersupplyusingastandardbalanced3-pinXLR
microphonecable.Beforeconnectingtoamixerdirectly,turn
thechanneltowhichyou’reconnectingtoitslowestgain
setting.Ifyouare
usingtheNadySMPS-1PhantomPowerSupply,connect
inthefollowingorder:
1.ConnecttheCM100totheSMPS-1
2.ConnecttheSMPS-1SignalOutputtoyourmixer
3.ConnecttheSMPS-1totheACpowersupply(115-230VAC)
4.TurnontheSMPS-1PowerON/OFFswitch
Slowlyturnupthechannelgaininyourmixertothe
desiredlevel.
Using the Foam Windscreen
TheCM100issuppliedwithafoamwindscreen(FW-1/100).
Thiswindscreenfitsoverthegrillportionofthemicrophone
andisdesignedprimarilytodecreasebassrumble(fromwind
noisepickup)duringoutdoorliveorrecordinguse.Itisalso
usefulinkeepingmouthsprayoutofthemicrophonehead.
TheFW-1orotherwindscreenshouldbeusedwhenever
someoneisclosemikedtobothprotectthemicrophoneand
toalsoeliminate“popping”soundsfrompercussivebreath
sounds.
Note: Be aware that the foam windscreen will slightly attenuate the high frequency
response of the microphone.

One Year Warranty
NadySystems,Inc.warrantstotheoriginalconsumerpurchaser(U.S.A.only)thatyourunitisfreefromanydefectsinmaterialorworkmanshipforaperiodof
oneyearfromthedateofpurchase.Ifanysuchdefectisdiscoveredwithinthewarrantyperiod,NadySystems,Inc.willrepairorreplacetheunitfreeofcharge,
subjecttoverificationofthedefectormalfunctionupondeliveryorshippingprepaidtoNadySystems.
