NAPCO Gemini BioReader Brochure & Specs - page 2
Standalone or with an alarm system,
outstanding biometric reliability for
greater security for residential &
commercial accounts
3-Way “live” finger detection
High-security verification thwarts use by imposters using photocopies
and rubber impression fake fingers
Easy, fast, accurate fingerprint enrollment
Enrolls at keypad in approximately 5-seconds. (Also easy user deletions.)
Secure processing and storage on-board
All processing is done and stored securely within the unit. Includes
anti-substitution which prevents hacking or unauthorized keypad
replacement by retaining its own master code, enrolled in the panel
upon installation.
Audible and visual status indicators
Piezo sounder prompts/feedback. Traditional keypad armed/alarm and
ready LEDs plus bio-feedback indicator
Stealth/Blanking Mode for no-show alarm status LEDs
Status is hidden after use, displayed only with an authorized user’s
fingerprint or code
Removable bio-optic reader privacy shield
Shield covers durable scratch-resistant optic glass, disguises operation
Superior 99% accurate false acceptance and false rejection
Bioreader has exceptional biometric reliability and accuracy to ensure
reliable use – even by those with fingerprints traditionally considered
hard to read, such as consumers with finer (poor quality) prints, or
people whose fingerprints are dry or worn such as people who garden,
manual laborers, elderly, etc. FAR (False Acceptance Rate) from .001 to
0% and FRR (False Rejection Rate) selectable 1.1 to 5.8% .
Alarm System Integration:
Works with Napco Gemini (all panels, 3- and 4-wire bus, not intended to
be sole keypad) and Express systems
All digital user code info (3 to 6 digit codes) passes through
Gem-BioReader to the Gemini System (does not change panel
programming.)
Unit performs arm, disarm, ambush, bypass alarm functions and
energize relay outputs (or relay groups in panels which support them,
ie., P3200 through X255)
Keypad includes Stay/Away K-Series functionality and programmable
one-button relay control
Also works on most brands of panels with a keyswitch or similar input

What security dealers like best about the Bioreader:
“Customers’ fingers are their keys or codes. Nothing to carry, lose or
memorize. It’s great with latchkey kids coming home or elderly clients.”
“5-second fingerprint enrollment right at Bioreader is so quick and easy”
“Stealth mode – Reveals alarm status only to authorized user without
arming/disarming first.”
“Also, alarm in memory is automatically displayed with LED indicator as a
precautionary warning to returning users before they enter.”
“Other-finger” ambush/silent alarm activation is very handy, whether it’s
their ring finger or index finger or their left hand vs. their right hand they
use for ambush -- they can’t leave home without it.”
“With one-touch of a finger my accounts can disarm their alarm and open
their electric garage door opener.”
