Auxiliary handle
Specialconstruction“VIBRASTOP”regulatesthevibrationswithauxiliary
handle(5).Auxiliaryhandlecanbescrewedfromtheleftorrightside
ofgearbox(4).Someoperationsmayrequirethehandlescrewedtothe
topofgearbox.
Fitting the grinding disc
Assembly with the standard clamping nut
Clean the lower flange (11) and the clamping nut (9), as well as the
clampingsurfaceonthegrinderdisc.Placethebackingflange(11)on
thegrinderspindle(12).Fitthegrindingdisc(10).Thebackingflange
(11)mustfittheholeofthegrindingdisc(10)exactly.Pressinthespin-
dlelockingbutton(13).Makesurethatthegrinderspindleisnotturning
beforepressingthespindlelockingbutton.Turnthegrindingdisc(10)/
grinderspindle(12),untilthespindlelock(13)engages.Firmlytighten
theclampingnut(9)usingthewrench(14).Beforeswitchingoncheck
thatthegrinderdisccanrotatefreely.
Assembly with the quick-action fixing nut
Themountingofthegrindingdisktakesplaceinthesamemannerasfor
machinemodelswithoutthequickclampingnutwiththefollowingex-
ceptions:Pressthespindlelock.Swingupthesecuringlever(16).Screw
onthequickclampingnut(15)andtighten.Swingthesecuringlever
(16)backdown.Thesecuringlevermaybeswunguponlyforclamping
orlooseningthegrindingdisk.Otherwise,thegrindingdiskcanwork
itselfloosefromthegrinderspindle!Thegrindingdiscmustbeableto
rotatefreelywithintheguard.
Activation
Checkthattheinformationonthemanufacturinglabelcomplieswith
theactualpowersupplyvoltage.
Checkthattheplugtypeisthesameasthesockettype.
Toolsdesignedfor230Vmaybeconnectedto220V/240Vpowersup-
ply.
Switching on and off
Pushthesafetylock-offlever(2)forwardstoreleasetheOn/Offswitch
lever(1).Atthesametime,presstheon-offswitchlever(1)tostartthe
grinderandreleaseittostop.
Continuous use
Pushthesafetylock-offlever(2)forwardstoreleasetheOn/Offswitch
lever(1).Atthesametime,presstheon-offswitchlever(1)andpushthe
safetylock-offlever(2)forwards.Toturnoffcontinuousoperation,press
andreleasetheon-offswitch(1)again.
Control Electronics
Increasesproductivity,servicelifeofthegrindingmachine,comfortat
work,qualityandsafetyoflabour.
Itsfeaturesareasfollows:
Restart protection
Ifpowersupplyisinterruptedatwork(disconnectionofthesupplyca-
bleplug,tripping,cutout,etc.)andtheswitchremainsarrestedinthe
ONposition,afterresumptionofpowersupplythemachinewillnotbe
restartedautomatically.Tostartthegrindingmachine,theswitchhasto
beswitchedOFFatfirstandONafterwards.
Smooth starting
AfterthegrindingmachineisswitchedON,thecontrolelectronicsguar-
anteessmoothstartandrunninguptotheworkingspeedwithoutun-
necessaryshocks.Thiswayservicelifeofthegrindingmachinemaybe
extendedandwearofthegearreduced.
Constant speed
Speedofthisgrindingmachineisconstantunderthestandardload(un-
derabsoluteloadreliefalike);thiswayproductivityoflabourunderload
doesnotdrop.Note:Thankstospeedreductionduringno-loadopera-
tionthenoiseexposureisreducedaswell.
Motor protection from burnout
Thecontrolelectronicsmeasuresmotortemperaturecontinuously,thus
preventingitsburnout.Ifthemotortemperatureisdangerouslyhigh,
themachinewillbeswitchedtothecoolingmodeautomatically.Donot
workwiththegrindingmachineinthisstate.Ifyouworkwiththeover-
loadedgrindingmachine,thecontrolelectronicswillswitchthemotor
OFF.IfyouswitchtheoverloadedgrindingmachineOFFandONimme-
diatelyafterwards,themachinewillatfirstbestartedtothefulloperat-
ingloadandafterca2secondsitwillbeswitchedtothecoolingmode
again.Letmotorcoolatthe“cooling”speed.Coolinglastsca1minuteas
arule.Themachinethenreturnsbacktothefullworkingspeedandyou
cancontinueworking.
Protection from wheel lock
Whencutting,thewheelcanbelockedinthecut.Toeliminatetherisk
ofoperator’sinjuryormachineburnout,theelectronicsreactstosteep
loadrisebyswitchingthemotorOFF.Thestoppedmotorcannotbero-
tatedandaquietdroningcanbeheard.Torestartthemachine,switch
itOFFandONafterwards.
Grinding and cutting discs
Checkthatthelabelonthediscshowsthepermissibleperipheralspeed
orpermissiblerevolutionspeed.
Ifthepermissiblerevolutionspeedisgivenonthedisc,itmustnotbe
lowerthanthehighestno-loadspeedofthegrinder.
Discswithapermissibleperipheralspeedof80m.s–1andhighermay
beused.
Testnewcuttingdiscsbylettingthemrunforaboutoneminutewith
noload.
Unbalancedorvibratingdiscsshouldnotbeusedandshouldbedis-
carded.
Protectgrindingdiscsfromshock,impactandlubricants.
Ifthegrindingandcuttingwheelsareworndowntothemarkonthe
wheel guard (see the arrow sign), they should be replaced with new
ones.Thismaintainstheoptimumgrindingandcuttingperformanceof
themachine(peripheralspeedofthegrindingandcuttingwheels).
Maintenance
Theventilationholes(3)onthemotorcasingmustnotgetblockedup.
The cable may only be replaced in aspecialised electrical workshop
qualifiedtoperformsuchwork.
After approx. 200 hours of use the following maintenance work
must be performed:
Checkthelengthofthebrushes.Brushesshorterthan5mmshouldbe
replaced.
Themachineturnsitselfoffautomaticallywhenthebrushesareworn
out.Themachinemustbesenttoaservicecentreformaintenance.
Changethelubricantinthegearboxandbearings.
To preserve the protection class the machine must undergo asafety
inspection;thismustbedoneinaspecialisedelectricalworkshopquali-
fiedtoperformsuchwork.
Storage
Packed appliance may be stored in dry, unheated storage place with
temperaturenotlowerthan–5°C.
Unpacked appliance should be stored only in dry storage place with
temperaturenotlowerthan+5°Cwithexclusionofallsuddentempera-
turechanges.
Environmental protection
Powertools,accessoriesandpackagingshouldbesortedforenviron-
mental-friendlyrecycling.
