Solution
5. Hesitation or belt slipping
when walking on unit.
5.1 Belt tension
If belt hesitates or slips when walking on unit it
may be caused by loose walking belts. Perform the
following test: Stand beside the Mobia and set
speed to 2 MPH. Using handrail for support, step
on one treadle and attempt to stop movement. If
one belt stops but roller at rear and other belt con-
tinue to turn walking proceed to step 5.2. If both
belts slow or stop simultaneously then proceed to
step 5.3.
5.2 Walking belt tension
Adjust walking belt tension at the front of the unit
using the provided hex wrench on the exposed
adjustment bolts located on each side of each
front roller. Tighten (turn clockwise) each adjust-
ment bolt in full turn increments. Be sure to adjust
both bolts on each roller the same amount as to
not disrupt belt alignment. After each adjustment,
restart unit and check to see if belt slippage has
been eliminated.
5.3 Walking technique
When walking on the Mobia it is important to
adjust the belt speed to match your walking
speed. Do not attempt to drive the belt speed up
with your feet. Doing this will cause the Mobia
to sense that the belts are going faster than the
intended speed and power to the motor will be
reduced or even stopped to correct the situation.
If a higher speed is desired use speed up key to
adjust to the appropriate speed and walk normally
on the belts.
6. Speed displayed is not accurate.
6.1 Display set to wrong unit of measure. (Eng-
lish/Metric)
Change display units. (See OWNER’S MANUAL)
7. Walking belt misalignment
7.1 Tracking adjustment
If either of the walking belts is tracking far enough
to one side or the other to cause a rubbing or
scraping sound adjust belt at front of each Treadle.
7.2 Roller shaft bracket
If belt adjustment required exceeds the range of
the adjuster replace front roller kit. If belt edge is
excessively damaged from misalignment WALK-
ING BELT may also need to be replaced.
8. Knocking noises
8.1 Hydraulic cylinder bolts.
Check and tighten both upper and lower bolts that
connect the hydraulic cylinders to the unit.
8.2 Virtual pivot assembly
If knocking sound seems to be coming from the
rear roller area, check igus bushings and replace
IGUS BUSHING KIT if cracked.
9. User weight calculation
9.1 Enter user weight
See OWNER’S MANUAL for instructions on using
program mode to enter user weight for a more
accurate calculation.
10. Speed dependent grinding or scraping noise
in all modes
10.1 Belt alignment
Check walking belt alignment. Belt contact with
metal guides under treadle can make loud grinding
sound.
10.2 Rollers
Remove drive belt and manually advance belts. If
noise persists isolate to which roller the sound is
coming from and replace.
10.3 Motor
With drive belt removed manually rotate motor. If
motor makes noise replace MTR WITH TACH.
