3. Wait for few seconds until system prompts “The USB Storage Device can now be safely removed from the
system”, remove the USB cable from computer.

1. Boot-up your computer into Windows, making sure the USB port device driver has been installed and is
available. To check this, open the “Device Manager” window to see if the “USB Host Controller” is
installed without error.
2. Ensure the USB interface cable and then the AC adapter connections (if using AC adapter) are made as
described in Hardware Installation. Insert the USB interface cable into computer.
3. Windows will find “USB 2.0 Device” and the “Add New Hardware Wizard” dialog box appears, click Next
to continue.
4. On the following screen, select “Search for the best driver for your
device” box, and click Next.
5. Insert the device driver diskette into floppy disk drive. Select “Floppy
disk drives” box and then click Next. A screen should appear as the
figure shown alongside. Make sure the file that Windows found is
“A:\nvusat2.inf”. Click Next to continue.
6. After the necessary files are copied, click Finish to complete this
stage of installation.
7. Windows will then find another new device immediately, keep the
driver diskette in floppy disk drive, click Next until Windows finds a
driver and the screen appears as the figure. Make sure the file that
Windows found is “A:\nvusat2s.inf”, click Next to continue.
8. After the necessary files are copied, click Finish to complete the
installation.
9. Windows will complete the installation and can then detect the
external drive. You will find a new drive letter has been assigned for the drive in “My Computer”.
10. If the external drive doesn’t appear in “My Computer” or doesn’t work
properly, please go into “Device Manager” to check whether the
devices are installed as the following:
z
USB2.0-ATA/ATAPI Bridge Controller: Installed under
“Universal Serial Bus Controller”
z
USB2.0-ATA/ATAPI Mass Storage Controller: Installed under
“Hard Disk Controller”.
z
The real name of the external drive: Installed under “CDROM”.
How To Disconnect The External Drive From Computer
1. Click on the icon
on system tray and a dialog box appears beside this icon.
2. Click “Stop USB2.0 ATA/ATAPI Mass Storage Controller” in the dialog box.
