OBH Nordica 2310 Manual - Coffee Brewing
22
We recommend that you brew 2 times with only water before using the
appliance. Let the water run through and pour out the water. Rinse the glass
carafe and repeat the procedure in order to completely clean the coffee maker.
IMPORTANT! Always use clean, cold water.
Coffee brewing
Fill the glass carafe with cold water. Lift the lid and fill the water tank with
the amount of water you want – but do not exceed 12 cups. See the marking
on the water tank for easy filling. Please note that there will always be a little
less water in the glass carafe when the brewing is done, which is due to the
absorption of some water by the coffee grounds.
Swing out the filter unit by pulling the handle. Put the filter funnel into the unit.
Note that the filter unit can only be positioned in one way and that the handle
should be in the top position when lowering the filter funnel. Put a filter (1x4)
in the funnel and measure the wanted quantity of coffee in the filter – approx.
1 measuring jug a cup. Make sure that the filter funnel is correctly positioned
and that the handle is in the lower position before turning back the filter unit.
Close the lid. Put the carafe back in place. Be careful to position the glass
carafe correctly in order that the anti-drip function is activated by the lid of the
carafe. Plug the appliance and switch on the coffee maker, and the lamp of the
switch will be on.
The heating plate underneath the glass carafe gets very hot. Remember always
to switch off the coffee maker, when the carafe has been emptied or when you
no longer want to keep the coffee warm. For hygienic reasons we recommend
always to remove the used coffee filter from the appliance after brewing.
Anti-drip function
This coffee maker has an automatic anti-drip function that prevents coffee
from running through the filter holder, if the pot has been removed from the
heating plate. This means that the glass carafe can be shortly taken off the
coffee maker during brewing if you want to serve a cup of coffee, but it is
important to put back the glass carafe on the heating plate within 1 minute. If
not, the coffee will overflow.
Auto-stop function
The coffee maker is equipped with an auto-stop function that automatically
switches off the appliance after 40 minutes.
Check that the coffee maker has been switched off, unplug and let the coffee
maker cool off before cleaning. Remove the coffee holder if still in the tunnel
and clean the appliance with a damp cloth and wipe with a dry, soft cloth.
Never use scouring powder or a sponge! The appliance must not be immersed
in water or kept under running water. The glass carafe, the lid and the filter
holder are dishwasher-proof.
