WARNING: attach heater in upright position as shown in
Diagram 1. never attach heater in a horizontal position. this
coulD leaD to Dangerous flareups or fire.
7. Open propane tank valve on propane tank slowly.
8. Check all fittings for leaks. Apply a mixture of liquid soap
and water to all joints. Bubbles forming show a leak.
Correct all leaks at once.
WARNING: never use an open flame to check for a leak.
LIGHTING HEATER
Read and understand all safety information before operating
heater.
1. Open gas valve on propane tank by turning
counter-clockwise.
2. Turn the heater regulator knob to “LO”. Hold a burning match
near the gas exit in front of the screen. Push the safety
shutoff valve plunger as shown in Diagram 2.
3. Remove the match when a weak bluish flame is visible.
Continue to hold the safety shutoff valve plunger in until the
screen begins to glow. See Diagram 3.

4. Turn regulator knob to desired heat setting:
“HI” @ approximately 12,000 BTUs per Hour
“LO” @ approximately 8,000 BTUs per Hour
Note: If heat setting is set too low, unit will
automatically shut-off.
WARNING: make sure there is no open flame in the area.
make sure there are no flammable vapors or liquiDs in the
area During lighting.
WARNING: stanD to the siDe of the heater while lighting.
Do not stanD or have any part of your boDy in front of heater
while lighting.
WARNING: Do not push in safety shutoff valve plunger before
inserting lit match.
CAUTION: Do not insert match into air inlet holes in
mixing tube.
TO TURN OFF HEATER
1. Turn the gas valve on the bulk tank completely OFF
(clockwise).
2. Turn the heater knob to “OFF” (clockwise). CAUTION: After
turning unit off, heater will remain extremely hot. Allow at
least 15 minutes for cooling before handling and storing.
CLEANING & STORAGE
1. To clean your infrared heater, use a damp soapy cloth. DO
NOT immerse in water.
2. Always remove the unit from the propane tank when not in
use OR WHEN TRANSPORTING by turning fitting clockwise
(Note – This is a left hand thread).
3. Always store propane tanks in a cool, well ventilated place,
away from any flame or heat and in a location. NOT USED
FOR HABITATION.
WARNING: never attempt to service heater while it is
connecteD to propane supply, operating, or hot. severe burns
can occur.
WARNING: keep heater clear anD free from combustible
materials, gasoline, anD other flammable vapors anD liquiDs.
WARNING: Do not block the flow of combustion or
ventilation air.

Use only original replacement parts. This heater must use design-
specific parts. Do not substitute or use generic parts. Improper
replacement parts could cause serious or fatal injuries. This will also
protect your warranty coverage for parts replaced under warranty.

original replacement part(s), call Quality Craft at 1-800-459-
4409 (EST).
When calling Quality Craft, have ready:
• your name and address
• model and serial numbers of your heater
• how heater was malfunctioning
• purchase date
In most cases, we will ask you to return the defective part.
