3.8 Damper Operation and Ventilation,  

Manual (Hold) Mode

The“VENT”settingcontrolstheventilationfunctionofthesystem.Ithasnocontroloverthedehumidification

function.Inordertoprovideventilation,themotorizeddampermustbeopenandthefanmustberunning.The

controllertakescareofthesetwofunctionsautomaticallysothatwheneverthedamperisopen,thefanisrunning.

Theventilationindicator“O”willbedisplayedwhenevertheunitisventilating.Thefanoperationindicator“O”

willalsobelit.

Therearethreedamperoperationmodes:

1.“OPEN”–holdmode:Thedamperwillbeopenandthedehumidifierfanwillbecontinuouslyoperatingto

introducefreshairintothespace.Usethismodeforcontinuousfreshairventilation.Thefanisalwaysonwhen

thedamperisopen.

2.“CLOSED”–holdmode:Thedamperwillneveropen,andthedehumidifierwillnotventilate.Thefanwillstill

operatenormallyforrecirculationanddehumidification.

3.“PROGRAMMED”mode:TheQuestDEH3000Rwilloperatethemotorizeddamperandthedehumidifierfan

accordingtotheprogrammedventilationschedule(Section3.9).

Thefactorypresetforthe“VENT”settingis“CLOSED”.

Toset“OPEN”–holdor“CLOSED”–holdventilationoperation:

1.Pressthe“VENT”button.Thecurrentsettingwillbegintoflashonthedisplay.Releasethebutton.

2.Pressthe“VENT”buttonagaintoswitchbetween“OPEN”and“CLOSED”.

3.Leavethecontrolalonefor10secondsandyoursettingswillbesaved.

Damper Operation and Ventilation, Programmed Ventilation

Thisexampleshowsthesysteminprogrammode(denotedbytheschedule15minuteson,5minutesoffandthe

wordRUNinthelowerrightcornerofthedisplay).

TheQuestDEH3000Rwilloperatefreshairventilationaccordingtoyour

ventilationprogram.Thecontrolneedstobeprogrammedtoturnthe

ventilationfunctionONandOFFatthedesiredintervals.Thisisdoneby

programmingtheventilationtimer.

Therearetwoprogramsavailableforventilation:

1.MondaythroughSunday

2.MondaythroughFriday&Saturday/Sunday

Eachblockofdayshasamorningscheduleandanightschedule.Morning

isthefirst12hoursofthedayandnightisthesecond12hours.

Eachschedulehas:

•A“START”timewhentheventilationschedulebegins,

•An“OPEN FOR”durationfortheamountoftimethedamperstaysopenin5minuteintervals,from0to60,

•And“CLOSED FOR”durationwhichclosesthedamperforaspecifiedtimein5minuteintervalsfrom0to60.
