orcablesystemisgroundedsoastoprovidesomeprotection
againstvoltagesurgesandbuilt-upstaticcharges.Article
810oftheNationalElectricalCode,ANSI/NFPA70,provides
informationonpropergroundingofthemastandsupporting
conductors,locationofantenna-dischargeunit,connection
togroundingelectrodes,andrequirementsforthegrounding
electrode.
Lightning
—Foraddedprotectionduringalightningstorm,
unplugtheunitfromthewalloutletanddisconnecttheantenna
orcablesystem.Thiswillpreventdamagetotheproductdueto
lightningandpower-linesurges.
Power Lines
—Anoutsideantennasystemshouldnotbe
locatedinthevicinityofoverheadpowerlines,electriclightor
powercircuits,orwhereitcanfallintopowerlinesorcircuits.
Wheninstallinganoutsideantennasystem,takecaretokeep
fromtouchingpowerlinesorcircuits.Contactwiththemmight
befatal.
Overloading
—Donotoverloadwalloutlets,extensioncords,
orintegralconveniencereceptaclesasthiscanresultinariskof

Object and Liquid Entry
