INSTALLING THE PHONE
Note: The phone company can charge you for the instal-
lation of the necessary jacks. The USOC number of the
jack to be installed is RJ11C.

Press FLASH in place of the
switchhook for special services
such as call waiting.
Switchhook — press to discon-
nect a call.
Plug the handset cord into
the jacks on the handset
and base.
Press HOLD to place a
call on hold. Press the
switchhook to talk again.
Press REDIAL to dial the
last number dialed (up to
31 tone or 32 pulse digits).
Set the ringer to sound a louder
ring (HI) or quieter ring (LO), or to
not sound at all (OFF). You can still
make calls with the ringer off, and
you can answer calls if you hear
another phone on the same line
ring.
Press and hold PRIVACY to
speak with someone in the
room without the person on the
phone hearing your conversa-
tion. To resume your conversa-
tion, release PRIVACY.
If you have pulse service, press
*TONE to dial numbers as tone
signals. The phone returns to
pulse dialing when you hang up.
Indicator — lights when a
call is on hold.
Switch to T (Tone) or P (Pulse) to match
the type of service you have. If you have
pulse (rotary) service, you can switch to T
(Tone)
during a call to use tone services.

Write down the phone
number with a pencil.
