Internal Audio Effects
TheinternaleffectsengineislocatedintheFlexFxLoop.This
allowsassigninganycombinationofPGM1,PGM2,PGM3,
PGM4,MIC1andMIC2toaneffect.TheFlexFxLoop
supports recording, cueing and Main Mix level control of an
affected signal. This has several advantages over conventional
effects assignment.

:Individualeffectsareturnedon/offusingtheeffectsbut-
tons.TheFlexFxLoop(whichincludesthetwoexternalinserts)
isturnedOn/OffwiththeFlexFxOnbutton(offfunctionsasa
loopbypass).

•Theeffecttimeissavedforeacheffect.
•ChangingBPMforoneeffectchangestheBPMforalleffects.
•TappingtheBPMrequiresatleasttwotaps.
•ChangingtheBeatmultiplierresultsinanimmediatechange
in the effect time.
•Changingtheeffecttimeadjuststhemultiplierforotheref-
fects so that the new multiplier is as close as possible to the
saved effect time.
Effects Display and Match Indicator
The effects display shows the current BPM, beat multiplier and
time for a selected effect. A bar graph represents the effect time
relative to its range. If no effect is selected, the information for
the last effect is displayed.
The effect time is normally a product of the BPM and the
Beatmultiplier.Iftheleft(<)orright(>)arrowappears,there
isaninequalitybetweentheBPM*Beatandtime.Thearrow
indicateswhichwaytoadjusttheBeattocorrecttheinequality
andgettheclosestpossibletime.Ifanasterisk(*)isdisplayed,
theBPM*Beatresultsinthecorrecttimeasdisplayed.
Forexample,120BPMwitha4/1beatmultiplierwould
resultinaneffecttimeof2000ms.Ifthetimeisadjustedto
adifferentvalue,suchas2097ms,anarrowindicatesthatthe
product of the displayed BPM and multiplier does not result in
thedisplayedeffecttime.Forthisexample,2000msisbelow
2097ms,sohittingthe changethetimetoitsproduct,2000ms. Aflashingbargraphindicatesthattherequestedeffecttime isoutofrange.Forexample,ifaBPMof120isusedwithabeat multiplier of 4, the resulting time is 2 seconds. If the multiplier is set to 16, the resulting time would be 8 seconds, which is out of range. In this case, the time remains at 2 seconds and the bar flashes. Effects Synchronization ThemixercansynchronizeitsinternaleffectstoaMIDIBeat Clock.TelltheMP26totrackaMIDIBeatClockbyholding the Tap button while pressing the Time encoder.InMIDIBeat Clockmode,theMatchIndicatordisplaysaflashing“M.”The mixercontinuestotracktheMIDIBeatClockuntilthe Tap but- ton is pressed or the Time encoderisturned.MIDIBeatClock reception is enabled by default, but may be disabled using the MP26 driver control panel. TheMP26alsosendsaMIDIBeatClocktothecomputer thatmaybeusedtosynchronizeaudioapplicationstothe MP26’s BPM. This BPM may result from tapping the BPM or receivingaMIDIBeatClockfromanotherASIOorCoreAudio application.SendingtheMIDIBeatClockisdisabledbydefault, but may be enabled using the MP26 driver control panel. USB Drivers The MP26 includes high-performance, high-stability ASIO and Core Audio device drivers. The driver allows audio applications to play and record audio via the MP26’s five stereo playback and six stereo record USB channels. The drivers are designed for incredibly low audio latency, eliminating perceptible delay between control input to audio applications and the resulting audible effect. ApplicationsmayalsoconnecttotheMP26MIDIOutand MIDIInports.Controlchangesonthemixer’sfrontpanelare sentouttheMIDIOutport.Somemixerfeaturesmaybecon- trolledbysendingMIDImessagestothemixer’sMIDIInport. ChangetheMIDIchannelnumberforMIDIInandMIDIOut messages using the driver’s control panel. ThedriverisavailableontheMP26installationCDthatis shipped with the mixer. Better yet, install the latest driver from www.rane.com/mp26.html .
