10) FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: When I try to convert my movies, I get the error “Video connector was not obtained. Failed to convert
movie” What does this mean?
A: This means you do not have the correct codec installed to decode the movie. A good rule of thumb is
that Wii GameShark can convert any video that can be played in Windows Media Player on your PC. A
good decoder to install is FFDShow. This can be downloaded here:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/FFDShow.htm
If you want to decode Matroska .MKV files, you will need to install a Matroska filter, and so on. Check out
the Wii GameShark Hints and Tips page at
www.gameshark.com
for further information on codecs and
converting movie files.
Q: I’ve copied a media file from the PC to the Memory Stick/ USB device, but when I browse the SD card
using my Wii browser the file is not there.
