5.5 Muffler Screen and Spark 

Arrestor Maintenance 

Should be performed every 6 months 

or 100 hours. The air filter may need 

to be cleaned more frequently when 

using in unusually wet or dusty areas. 

1.  Remove the screws

then remove the cover

2.  Loosen the bolt 

① and the 

remove the muffler cap 

②, the 

muffler screen 

③ and spark 

arrester 

④ 

3.  Remove the carbon deposits 

on the muffler screen and 

spark arrester using a wire 

brush. Use wire brush lightly 

to avoid damaging the muffler 

screen or spark arrestor. 

4.  Check the muffler screen and 

spark arrester replace them if 

damaged. 

5.  Install the spark arrester. 

6.  Install the muffler cap. 

7.  Install the cover and tighten 

the screws.
