* You need a 3G/GPRS connection to
send and receive Picture Messages.
When done, tap Send or press
to send the
message. The send progress is displayed at the
right side of the message in the message list.
Open the keyboard, then enter the mobile
phone number or email address (for Picture
Messages) of the message recipient in the To
field. As you enter the phone number or email
address, matching contacts will appear on the
screen. Tap a recipient or continue entering
your recipient’s number or email address.
Press HOME, tap the Applications tab, then
tap Messaging>Newmessage.

After you installed a memory card, connect your T-Mobile G1 to your computer and start transferring pictures, music, and
applications. Note that the Camera application saves all captured pictures in the memory card, and Music only plays
audio files from the memory card.

GoogleMail is activated instantly when you set up the phone for the first time. GoogleMail groups each message you send
with all the responses you receive. This conversationlist continues to grow as new replies arrive, so you can always see
your messages in context. To synchronise your Google Mail emails, contacts and calendar, refer to the User Manual.

label, or delete the

Press HOME, tap the
Applications tab, then
tap GoogleMail.
The conversations list
appears. To refresh
your Inbox, press
MENU, then tap
Refresh.
Tap on a conversation
to display all messages
in that conversation.

sender, reply to all senders,
or forward the email.
On the Home screen, tap web'n'walk.
Go to a different web page by entering the web page
address in the URL field and tapping Go.
You are automatically taken to the T-Mobile Favourites
Home page. Scroll your finger up or down the screen
to view other areas of the web page.
Takeapictureandsenditviaemail
All pictures you take using your phone are automatically saved to the memory card unless you choose to delete it (
)
in the post-capture screen. Refer to the User Manual to learn more about the Camera.
While on any application screen, press the
CAPTURE button located at the right panel of
your phone to activate the Camera.
Tap Share on the post-capture screen.
If you have set up another email account on your
phone aside from your Google Mail, select the
email account to use to send the picture.

On the Home screen, press MENU, then tap
Wallpaper>Wallpapergallery. You can also
use your own pictures as wallpaper.

On the Home screen, press MENU, then tap
Settings>Date&time. Clear the Automatic
checkbox.
C. Changeyourringtone
On the Home screen, press MENU, then tap
Settings>Soundanddisplay>Phoneringtone.
D. Adjusttheringerormediavolume
Press the VOLUME UP/DOWN buttons at the left
panel of your phone to adjust the ringer volume.
When playing music or watching a video, press
the VOLUME UP/DOWN buttons to adjust the
media volume.

While on any application screen, press the
CALL ( ) button, then tap the Dialer tab.

To save contacts on your SIM card to your T-Mobile G1, press HOME, then tap Contacts. You can also tap the
Contacts tab when in the Dialer to display your contacts list.
Press MENU, then tap Settings>SIMcontactsimporter. Select the contact you want to save to your contacts
list, press MENU, then tap Import. To import all your contacts, press MENU, then tap Importall.
Touch the keys on the Dialer to enter the
phone number. If you touched a wrong
number key, touch
to erase each
subsequent digit of a number. To erase the
entire number, tap and hold
.
Tip
During a call, press the VOLUME UP/
DOWN buttons on the left panel of the
T-Mobile G1 to adjust the in-call volume.
When done, press the END CALL/POWER
( ) button to hang up.

Roll the TRACKBALL down to select the text
box, then start composing your message.
If sending a PictureMessage, press
, then
tap Addsubject or Attach to add a message
subject, or attach a picture, an audio file, a voice
recording, or a picture slideshow.
Frame your subject on the screen, then press
the CAPTURE button halfway to activate auto-
focus. When focus is set, press the CAPTURE
button fully to take the shot.

Your picture is automatically attached to your email
message. Compose your email, then tap Send.
You can also tap the Applications tab on the
Home screen, then tap
to open web'n'walk.
GettingaroundwithMaps
Use Maps on your phone to view your current location, search for a place of interest, seek directions, know the current
traffic information (depending on availability), and more. To open Maps, press HOME, then tap Maps.
Tap a message header to open the message body.
Your phone also enables you to fetch up to five POP3/IMAP
email accounts from famous Internet email providers such
as Yahoo! Mail, AOL, and more. Consult your User Manual to
learn how to add external email accounts on your phone.
Scroll down the message to display the message
or conversation option buttons.
To know your location,
press MENU, then
tap Mylocation. Your
location on the map is
indicated by a blue dot.
To search for a place of interest,
press MENU, then tap Search.
Enter the place you want to
search, then tap Search.
To seek directions, press
MENU, then tap Directions.
Enter your starting point and
destination, then tap Route.
When the Search results list
appears, tap a place to display
it on the map.
When the Directions screen
appears, tap Showmap to
show the directions on a map.
Set the phone’s memory
card as a USB drive.
Press HOME > MENU,
tap Settings>SDcard
&phonestorage, then
select the UseforUSB
storage option.
On your computer,
navigate to the USB
drive and open it.
Tip
You can create folders in the memory card to
organise your pictures into albums, or your music
into playlists.
Connect your phone to
your computer using
the USB cable.
When finished, close the USB drive window,
unmount or eject the drive as required by your
computer’s operating system, then disconnect
the USB cable.
Create a top-level folder on the memory card,
and name the folder “Pictures”, “Music”, or
“Applications”, then open it.
Transfer your files into the appropriate folder.
On your phone, press HOME > MENU, tap
Settings>SDcard&phonestorage, then clear
the UseforUSBstorage option.
