Optional Rain Cap can be fitted at any time after installation; this will need drilling and riveting in place.
We do not recommend rain hoods as 95% of our fires do not have a rain cap, however if you are
experiencing significant down drafts or water coming into fire then these will be the solution.
TO INSTALL RAINHOOD.
Remove outer part of top cowl to fit this, by drilling out the three rivets
Remove hood from three legged mount by removing split pin, drop mount into cone – adjust legs so
they fit cone,
Clamp or use vise grips to hold mount in central position,
Drill using 4.0mm drill through cone and leg of mount,
Repeat for other two legs, make sure mount is central to cone, refit hood with screws so it can be
removed for flue cleaning.
Note this is not an easy process and some skill required to fit it. It will also mean that any flue cleaning
will require removal of top cowl outer part
Note: Rain Hood is top part with fin – shown attached to cowl
