The correct torque
•
The torque delivered for standard M12/M14 screws is approx. 40-50 Nm per
impact by the impact wrench. Tighten each screw with two impacts plus
1 impact to check they are secure.
This will give you an allover torque of 120–150 Nm. Finally, tighten the screws
to the stipulated torque with a torque wrench.
•
We recommend 3 impacts plus 1 impact for checking purposes in heavy vehi-
cles (for example luxury class cars, offroad-vehicles). The impact for checking
purposes can be carried out by tightening the screws or nuts cross-over. This
will give you an allover torque of 170–230 Nm. Finally, tighten the screws to
the stipulated torque with a torque wrench.
•
Tighten the screws with a torque wrench once again after you have driven for
approx. 50 km.
Replacing the fuse
1. To replace the fuse in the plug, twist off the upper cover.
2. Remove the faulty fuse and insert a new one.
3. Twist the cover back on the plug again.
A spare fuse is enclosed in the case.
a
DANGER of accident
• Screws, nuts and bolts (especially wheel nuts) that have to be
tightened to a specific torque should be tightened with a torque
wrench after the wheel has been fitted in place. If you are in doubt
as to the correct torque stipulated for your vehicle, consult your car
manufacturer. The nuts should be tightened with the torque wrench
once again after you have driven for approx. 50 km.

WARNING - risk of injury
•
Wear personal protective clothing
such as protective gloves and ear
muffs.
•
Do not wear loose clothing or
jewellery. Keep hair, clothing and
gloves well away from moving
parts. Loose clothing, jewellery or
long hair can get caught up in
moving parts.
CAUTION - material damage
Do not overload the tool. Do not apply
excessive pressure to the impact
wrench. If the screws cannot be
moved and the drive freezes - stop the
operation. Either use a more powerful
tool or continue by hand with a car
wheel spider wrench. Do not under
any circumstances attempt to con-
tinue turning the screw manually with
the impact wrench!
•
Do not operate the tool for longer
then a maximum of 10 minutes with-
out interruption. Then take a
10 minute break to allow the tool to
cool down.
•
Do not operate the tool without a
load at full speed for any length of
time.
• Do not use caustic, abrasive or sol-
vent-based products for cleaning.
•
Prevent oil or oil products from
entering the plastic casing. The
chemicals they contain could cor-
rode and damage the plastic.
