Deactivate Cruise Control
1. Depress the brake pedal or push the stalk
away from you.
2. When you do this, the green light shuts off.
WARNING
Using the cruise control when it is not possible
to drive safely at a constant speed can be
dangerous and can lead to an accident, with
serious personal injury to you and your pas-
sengers.
Never use cruise control when driving in
heavy or varying traffic or when you can-
not keep a safe distance between you and
the vehicles ahead of you.
Never use cruise control on steep, winding,
or slippery roads (such as gravel roads, wet
roads, or snowy or icy roads) or on roads
with standing water.
Never use cruise control when driving
off-road or on unpaved roads.
To help prevent unintended operation of
cruise control, switch the system off when it
is not being used.
When traveling downhill, the cruise control
may not be able to maintain a constant
speed. The vehicle may speed up because of
its own weight.
Optical Parking System
The optional Park Distance Control (PDC) automatically activates when the car is shifted into reverse.
Figure 1.8
Overview
If you get too close to an object while parking,
the PDC emits an audible beeping sound. The
closer you get, the more rapidly it beeps, until
the sound becomes a continuous tone.
Your Volkswagen CC also has a control button to
the left of the shifter that can be used to acti-
vate the park distance control feature during
forward parking. Typically, the forward system is
not active, so that it does not trigger when ap-
proaching other cars while driving.
CAUTION
Park Distance Control and the optical Park As-
sist system are no substitute for careful and
attentive driving.
The sensors have blind spots in which
people, animals, and objects cannot be
detected.
Always be careful and look around you
when parking. The sensors cannot always
detect people, animals, and objects. Watch
out for small children and animals in par-
ticular.
Noise in the area where the Park Distance
Control system is being used may also
prevent people and objects from being
properly detected. The Park Distance Con-
trol (PDC) automatically activates when
the vehicle is shifted into reverse.
