Will it cause Shedding?
Shedding is a natural phase of healthy hair.
Hair grows in three phases:
- The Anagen or Growth Phase may last up to 3 years or more.
- The Catagen or Shedding Phase occurs when the mature hair moves away from the root and its supply of
nutrition-rich blood and is eventually shed by normal activity or it is pushed out by the growth of new hair.
- The follicle rests for approximately 100 days during the Telogen or Resting Phase before the cycle starts
over again with the Anagen Phase.
Using the LaserComb can often accelerate the hair cycle causing hairs in the Catagen phase to be shed
allowing room for a new healthy hair to take its place. A small percentage of users see a slight increase in
shedding around weeks 4-6. This is a good sign. It demonstrates that the LaserComb is having a positive
effect on the hair growing environment.
Will it work with transplants?
Many hair transplant surgeons use the LaserComb in conjunction with transplant surgery. The teeth are
removable for use during the healing phase. The nourishing laser energy improves the health and condition of
your transplants as well as the existing hair. We encourage using the LaserComb four times per day starting
the day of surgery. Use it at this frequency for 10 days then revert back to normal operation of three times per
week.
Will it work with Hair Replacement systems?
Many Hair Replacement wearers use the HairMax for a number of reasons. Firstly to improve the condition
of their own hair (if they are partial hair replacement wearers) and secondly if they want to try and grow
there own hair back (if the follicles are not dead). This works perfectly well with lace hair replacement
systems as the lace enables the laser light to penetrate through.
Will it work with Extensions?
Yes. It works very well with hair extensions. Many extension wearers will combine their lovely new locks
with HairMax laser therapy in order to improve the condition of their own hair.
