❑ 2) Slide the cowling into place on the front
of the center pod. To align the cowl, you should
push it back as far as possible and center the cut-
out in the cowl around the propeller adapter. See
photo # 47 below.
Photo # 47
❑ 3) Look carefully at the cowling and you will
notice that there is one predrilled hole through the
top of the cowling and one through the bottom of the
cowling.
❑ 4) While holding the cowling in alignment, use
a pencil and mark the locations of the two cowl
mounting screws onto the center pod.
MOUNTING THE COWLING
❑ 5) Remove the cowling. Using a drill with a
1/16" drill bit, drill two pilot holes into the center
pod for the cowl mounting screws.
☛
To drill the lower hole, it may be easier to re-
move the drill bit from the drill and drill the hole by
hand.
❑ 6) Apply a couple of drops of Kwik Bond Thin
C/A to each of the cowl mounting holes in the center
pod. Apply only enough C/A to soak into the wood.
You don't want to plug the holes with C/A.
☛
Soaking Thin C/A into the holes will reinforce
the wood surrounding the hole.
❑ 7) After the C/A has cured, slide the cowling
back into position and realign it. Mount the cowl
using two 2mm x 6mm wood screws and tighten them
completely using a # 1 phillips screwdriver.
MOUNTING THE PROPELLER
❑ 8)
Slide the propeller onto the propeller
adapter. Thread the machine screw and washer into
the front of the adaptor and tighten them against the
propeller. Tighten the screw until it is snug. It is not
necessary to overtighten it. See photo # 48 below.

FINAL ASSEMBLY

❑ 1) Install the flight battery and receiver into the
fuselage pod. Use Dubro Hook & Loop Material to
hold them securely in place.
☛
So the Egret will balance properly, the flight bat-
tery should be installed as far forward as possible.
We pushed the flight battery up against the front of
the fuselage pod and installed the receiver directly
behind it, on the fuselage floor.
❑ 2) Plug the elevator and rudder servo leads
into their proper slots in the receiver. Wrap the
wires up and push them between the receiver and
the fuselage pod side to keep them out of the way.
❑ 3) Unwrap the receiver antenna and run it out
the back of the fuselage pod. Secure it to the bottom
of the sub-fin using a couple of pieces of clear tape.
☛
Do not cut off the excess antenna. Let the ex-
cess hang behind the airplane. If you cut the antenna
it will greatly reduce the range of the receiver and
you will lose control of the airplane.
INSTALLING THE ESC
❑ 4) Connect the red and black leads from the
motor to the red and black motor leads on the ESC.
