3- ADJUSTMENTS
Adjustments to be made prior to first flight:
Before carrying out any adjustment the reserve parachute must be inserted.
To find the optimum position we recommend hanging with the harness, simulating flight position and conditions. Therefore it is best to place
all the material which you normally take into flight with you in the rear pocket.
ATTENTION:
- After each adjustment try the harness first on the ground and then in flight.
- Each adjustment must be carried out symmetrically on both sides.
- The main hook has a safety strap connected with the harness on all versions.
3.1- Variable incidence system
The standard system provides sliding of the main hook on a rope. Balance shift in flight is obtained by applying a slight push or vertical traction
on the hang glider control bar. The friction created by the nylon bush that runs along the 10 mm static rope allows you to stay stable in the
position reached without using other blocking mechanisms. Before increasing the speed of your hang glider, adjust your COSMIC’s angle of
incidence based on the speed that you would like to reach. If you want to increase the incidence of the harness with the speed-bar already
pulled, besides applying leverage to it, it will help you to bend your knees to move forward to the maximum centre of gravity. In a couple of hours
of flight you will build the necessary confidence. The harness is tailor made and the centre of gravity is adjusted based on the pilot’s height. In
order to provide for the differences in the centre of gravity of different body sizes, the centre of gravity can be personalised by moving the rope.
Remember that the adjustment set by the manufacturer is generally suited for most pilots.
If the harness tends to nose up:
move the rope back one hole.
If the harness tends to pitch:
move the rope forward one hole.
