Introduction
The MC7XFPR-01R Biometric Reader contains only a finger print reader. The
MC7XFPSCR-01R Biometric Reader contains a finger print reader, a contact
smart card reader and a contactless smart card reader. The Biometric Reader
snaps onto the bottom of the MC70/75 mobile computer. This guide describes
how to install and use the reader.
The LED indicates the power and status of the smart card.
Installation
1.
Align the reader with the bottom of the MC70/75 and push up until the locking
tabs snap into place.
2.
Pull on the reader to ensure it is securely connected to the MC70/75.
Removal
To remove the reader from the MC70/75, push in the bottom of the two locking
tabs and pull the reader from the MC70/75.
Smart Card Reading
1.
Launch a smart-card reader enabled application.
2.
Open the Smart Card slot cover.
3.
Insert the Smart Card into the slot, orienting the Smart Card with the contacts
facing down and toward the reader.
4.
To remove the Smart Card, pull the card out of the slot.
5.
Close Smart Card slot cover.
Contact-less Smart Card Reading
1.
Launch a contact-less smart card reader enabled application.
2.
Place the back of the reader near the item to read.
Finger Print Reading
1.
Launch a finger print enabled application.
2.
Present the reader to the user. The user presses their finger on the finger print
reader area.
