Known Problems

If this occurs, wait 30 seconds for the interface to
reach the Forwarding state, then accept the WX
switch's change in 3WXM.
Extended character sets not supported in CAD files.
(17778)
3WXM does not support characters that are
non-ASCII or not in the U.S. character set for plan
names or for text strings within CAD files (DXF or
DWG format). If such characters are used, they might
not be displayed properly in 3WXM.
Use only ASCII, U.S. characters in CAD files.
Changing the unit of measurement of a drawing
requires rescaling the drawing. (17941)
If you change the unit of measurement for a floor
plan, 3WXM does not rescale the drawing accord-
ingly. For example, if you change the unit of measure-
ment from feet to meters, a 1-foot distance becomes
a 1-meter distance.
If you change the unit of measurement, use the ruler
icon to adjust the scale of the floor plan.
When calculating MAP placement, selection of
coverage vs capacity affects both areas in a shared
area. (17982)
When configuring options for calculating MAP place-
ment, the setting of the Use Capacity Calculation
option affects both areas of a shared area.
Upgrade requires complete uninstall of Beta version
first. (18144)
Before you upgrade from a Beta version, you must
uninstall it first, including the option to delete the
network plans. If you install 3WXM without uninstall-
ing the Beta version first, the monitoring service will
not start properly. To upgrade:
1
Save a copy of your network plans. The plans are
located in the Wireless Switch Manager\xml\db folder
where you installed 3WXM.
2
Start the uninstall program.
3
Leave the option to delete network plans selected.
4
Do not select the option to delete the serial number.
5
Install Version 3.0.
6
Copy your network plans back into Wireless Switch
Manager\xml\db.
If you do accidentally upgrade without uninstalling
the previous version, do the following:
1
Stop the monitoring service.
2
Delete all files from the Wireless Switch Manager\ser-
vices-db\data folder.
3
Restart the monitoring service.
Disabled radio on operational MAP does not turn red
if the MAP or WX switch becomes unavailable.
(18330)
In the Explore and Status Summary windows of the
Monitor tab, the operational state of the equipment
is indicated by color, and is also indicated in the Status
