Important Notes:
5. Clean oil and saw dust out of the area under the plastic
cover with a brush or blow it out with compressed air. Be
especially sure to clean out the oil duct.
6. Clean the groove of the guide bar with a suitable tool
of blow it out with compressed air. Take special care to
clean the oil ducts in the guide bar. Inspect the chain
guides for wear and if necessary carefully smooth them
with a file and emery cloth. If the guide bar is at some
point worn beyond repair it must be replaced with a new
one.
7. Place the chain (24) with the chain links in the direction
shown around the guide bar.
8. Loop the chain around the drive sprocket wheel (21).
9. Place the guide bar (10) in position over the threaded
stud with the chain tensioning pin (23), in the hole in the
guide bar.
10. Fit the chain drive cover and fasten the nut, finger tight.
11. Tighten the chain tensioner screw (23) until the links of
the chain just touch the bottom edge of the guide bar.
12 Tighten the nut with spanner.
13. Check that the chain
can be smoothly pulled
around the guide bar
by hand and that it
maintains contact
with the guide bar, top
and bottom. To check
tension, rotate the chain
to its tightest condition
then suspend a 0.9kg
weight from the chain
