FINISHING THE JOB
If your boat has loops at the tips of the shell, pull 3 to 6 inches of the AIRECELL
tip through the loop (if too much is pulled through, wrinkles will develop when inflat-
ing). Wrap a piece of tape around the AIRECELL and tip loop to secure the AIRECELL
in place. If you are working on a raft, the AIRECELLS form a continuous loop, and a tip
loop is not utilized. Align the AIRECELL in the PVC shell using the welded seam of the
AIRECELL for reference. Close up the shell zippers making sure not to skip any teeth
or pinch the AIRECELL.
ALWAYS REPLACE SPLIT RINGS ON ZIPPER CARS BE-
FORE INFLATING!!
Inflate the tubes
. INFLATE THE SIDES OF THE RAFT TO A
SOFT PRESSURE BEFORE INFLATING THE BOW AND STERN SECTIONS. If
you see wrinkling or puckering in the shell, deflate and re-align the AIRECELL.
When the AIRECELL is straight and in the correct position and the tube is at full
pressure (2.5 psi), tighten the valve with the valve wrench and replace the valve cap.
AIR FLOOR AIRECELL REPLACEMENT
To replace or retrofit an AIR FLOOR AIRECELL in your raft or kayak, the fill valve
must be loosened and removed. This is easiest if done with the floor inflated. If the
floor cannot be inflated, access the AIR FLOOR AIRECELL and hold the valve base
(inside of the AIR FLOOR AIRECELL) while loosening the valve. When the valve is
separated the AIR FLOOR AIRECELL can be removed.
The valve base is not attached to the AIR FLOOR AIRECELL, it will drop out of
position once the valve is disassembled. When replacing the AIR FLOOR AIRECELL,
locate the valve base so that the openings in the AIR FLOOR AIRECELL and the floor
pocket align. Hand tighten the valve together.
The AIR FLOOR AIRECELL is slightly larger than the floor pocket. Position the
AIR FLOOR AIRECELL in the pocket so that there is an equal amount of excess on all
sides. Close up the floor pocket, inflate the AIR FLOOR AIRECELL to operating pres-
sure, then tighten the valve with the valve wrench.
RETROFITTING THE AIR FLOOR AIRECELL INTO YOUR KAYAK
1)
Locate the 4” diameter valve reinforcement patch on the top of the floor
pocket at the stern of your boat. Using the template on the instruction sheet,
trace a 1 1/4” circle in the center of the patch. Cut or punch the hole, being
careful not to cut or damage the bottom of the boat.
