SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read the Operating Instructions carefully before use.
Save these instructions for future reference.
Do not overload the power outlet or connection. Risk of electric shock and/or fire as a result of
overheating.
Never modify the power cord or plug. Connect the appliance to a separate power circuit. Risk of
electric shock and/or fire as a result of overheating.
Switch off the appliance immediately and unplug the power cord in the event of any abnormal
noise, smell, smoke or other sign of a problem. Risk of fire and/or electric shock.
Do not use the appliance in the vicinity of flammable liquids or gases. Risk of explosion and/or fire.
Do not start/stop the appliance by switching the power supply on/off. Risk of electric shock and/or
fire as a result of overheating.
Do not touch the power cord or the plug with wet hands. Risk of electric shock.
Never try to dismantle or repair the appliance yourself. Risk of material damage and/or electric
shock.
Do not drink the water from the appliance. It contains contaminants and can cause nausea and/or
illness.
Do not use a damaged or unsuitable power cord. Risk of fire and/or electric shock.
Do not place the appliance near sources of heat. The plastic parts can melt. Fire hazard.
Switch off the appliance and unplug the power cord before cleaning. Risk of electric shock and/or
personal injury.
Switch off the appliance before removing the water container. Otherwise this could damage the
float switch and/or result in the risk of electric shock.
Do not use the appliance in confined spaces. Inadequate ventilation can cause a fire risk as a
result of overheating.
Do not expose the appliance to the risk of splashing water. Water that gets into the appliance can
damage the insulation and result in a risk of electric shock and/or fire.
Place the appliance on a level, stable surface. If the appliance tips over any water that runs out can
cause material damage and the risk of electric shock and/or fire.
Never cover the inlet or outlet openings. Fire risk as a result of overheating.
Never poke your fingers or any other objects into the inlet or outlet openings.
Always make sure to fit the filter properly. Clean the filter every other week.
Never run the appliance without a filter
– risk of material damage.
Be careful when using the appliance in a room where there are children, elderly persons, or
persons who cannot detect humidity.
Do not place heavy objects on the power cord. Place the power cord so that it cannot be stood on
or clenched.
If water gets into the appliance, switch it off, unplug the power cord and contact an authorised
service centre or other qualified person.
Do not use the appliance near chemicals.
Do not climb or sit on the appliance. The appliance can tip over
– risk of personal injury.
Never place objects filled with water, such as vases, on the appliance. Water that gets into the
appliance can damage the insulation and result in a risk of electric shock and/or fire.
Never modify the plug in any way. The plug must be plugged into a correctly installed earthed
mains socket.
Do not use the appliance outdoors.
The appliance is only intended for household use. It is not intended for industrial or commercial
use.
Place the appliance at some distance from sources of heat.
Do not run the appliance over carpets. Do not move the appliance when there is water in the water
container. The appliance can tip over, and the water run out.
Electrical safety
Technical data for the appliance is specified on the type plate on the back.
The plug must be plugged into a correctly installed earthed mains socket. Never modify the plug in
any way. If the plug does not fit the mains socket, contact an authorised electrician to install an
earthed mains socket.
The mains socket should be easily accessible.
