Note: In most cases the client software installation routine can detect and connect to BeoMedia 1,
so you don’t have to find and enter the IP address manually.
When BeoMedia 1 is found by the editor PC a prompt appears, requesting the logon password.
Earlier the BeoMedia 1 default password was changed to a user specific password. Enter this password now and select
“Ok”. Please note that the password is case sensitive.
If for some reason the BeoMedia 1 cannot be found on the network, a dialog box (Fig. 1) appears. Go to BeoMedia 1’s
main menu. Select “Configuration” and “Network Info” (Fig. 2), and notice the IP-address and Hostname. Then you
have to write the IP-address and the hostname in the dialog box. (Fig. 3) When you chose one of the fields, the letters
or numbers will be black, and the other field will be grey. The black field indicates that you can write in it. After writing
the IP address, click “OK” and the client PC will detect and connect to BeoMedia 1.

Figs 1 to 3 are examples. The client PC is trying to locate BeoMedia 1 with IP-address 192.168.001.101. When you go
to the Network info on the BeoMedia 1, it has been assigned the IP address 10.8.11.120 (Fig. 2), and this is the value
which should be entered in the dialog box (Fig. 3). The hostname is BeoMedia, and it is also possible to write this in the
dialog box.
When the connection to BeoMedia 1 is established, fill in User Name and E-mail. This is done in order to make a full
registration and to get access to CDDB and N.RADIO. If you have previously registered a BeoPlayer or BeoPort software,
these details can be used.
Click Submit to register your data, and the installation of the client software is completed.
If a “Windows Security Alert” appears, click on “Unblock” and the registration part is done.
Note: Always remember to register – otherwise N.RADIO and other important features will not work.
Test the setup by selecting N.RADIO in the BeoMedia 1 menu via Beo4. Note that updating of radio stations may take a
minute. When you are able to listen to N.RADIO your setup is complete.
