Troubleshooting
WARNING
To reduce the risk of electric shock,
turn power switch off and disconnect
polarized plug from electrical outlet
before performing maintenance or
troubleshooting checks.
Problem

Vacuum
cleaner won’t
turn on
Power cord not plugged in
Check electrical plug
Blown fuse/tripped breaker
Check/replace fuse or reset breaker
No power at
brush roll
Hand Vacuum is not securely
connected to extension wand
Remove hand vacuum and replace,
making sure it clicks into place.
Switch is not in correct position.
Make sure brush switch is in "ON"
position
Brush roll is not properly installed.
Remove the brush roll and install the
brush as shown on page 11.
Debris stuck on the brush roll
or belt.
Clean the brush roll or belt.
Brush roll wear or damage.
Purchase a new brush roll.
Belt wear or damage.
Call BISSELL Consumer Care at
1-800-237-7691 to purchase a
new foot.
Vacuum
cleaner won’t
pick up dirt
Rotating floor brush bristles worn
Replace brush
Rotating floor brush jammed
Remove brush and clean debris
from brush ends
Clog in vacuum
Follow instructions on page 11 for
clearing clogs

Empty dirt container
Cyclone assembly not installed

Position correctly and lock in place

Firmly press the dirt container lid
to close until you hear a click
